I believe SolarWinds could improve on the RBAC permissions within SolarWinds. Since I know that is a wide range of items, I'd like to scope this down to SAM.
A major concern with SAM monitoring is that it could be used to push any kind of script to any node in the environment. When delegating out SAM permissions it is very much: No access, Read Only, Full admin. Ideally I would like to see the product expand on the options here.
The 2 main items I would love to be able to delegate to my users:
Assign pre-existing SAM Templates
Edit Custom Properties on an assigned Monitor
If i could also grant the rights to be able to disable/enable a component without doing a full override on everything else, that would be great as well.
If I had those options, I would be able to secure my environment and limit the amount of individuals that would have the ability to create monitors and/or override scripts.
