This would be a customisable option that when a node is not responding it goes into an unreachable status rather than down status. Similar to how you can set interfaces to be unpluggable so they show an Unplugged status rather than Down.
A Down status causes node trees, groups, and maps to show red statuses. This would be used for devices where you want to monitor these devices to see current status and availability but not generate alerts or show red.
A current workaround is potentially creating a lot of custom dependencies linking nodes to switch interfaces but this is not always possible.
