Hi SolarWinds team,
We would like SRM to provide a clear and reliable onboarding path for HPE XP8 Gen2. Unlike HPE 3PAR (where SRM onboarding is straightforward with credential + endpoint), XP8 Gen2 does not have an obvious/validated flow in SRM and discovery/collection is unclear or inconsistent.
Feature Request:
- Add an explicit “HPE XP8 Gen2” device profile in SRM (or validate/extend the existing “HPE StorageWorks XP” profile to fully cover XP8 Gen2).
- Clearly indicate the supported integration model in the SRM UI for XP8 Gen2:
- Onboard SMI-S (SVP / embedded provider), or
- External provider (if applicable).
- Improve the Add Storage Device wizard with XP8-specific guidance (endpoint format, ports 5988/5989, TLS/certificate requirements) and provide more actionable error messages when discovery fails.
Goal: Make XP8 Gen2 onboarding as simple and dependable as 3PAR and ensure stable health/performance/capacity monitoring in SRM.
