Probably I had posted this feature request few years ago, isn't it possible to release a feature which would automatically pick least used poller (based on the weight of the poller) when you add a device to SolarWinds?
It doesnt mean that you need to remove an option to manually select the poller, its just that when network discovery is run or when you manually add a device there should be an option called <auto select> along with the pollers being listed. When you keep it as <auto select> its like asking SolarWinds to pick the least utilized poller to add the device.
Also helps your environment with respect to load balancing and there wont be a need for the admin to validate it manually. This would help clients with more number of devices in their environment.
