Currently the SolarWinds agent when installed locally (not pushed from SolarWinds) can only be configured to use a static IP by default. It will register as such with SolarWinds with its initial contact. For devices that will require DHCP this option should be available so that it does not need to be manually changed once the agent has registered.
Current situation that this is seen in is imaging a group of laptops from a golden image. All will initially register with SolarWinds without issue. Unfortunately these are listed in there properties as having a static IP of whatever their initial IP address assigned to them was. The laptops are actually configured to use DHCP. The next time they are used the IP is changed.
