Embedding a picture into the body of an Email Template

Hello,

Our team is looking to add an IT Communications banner to the body of the External Customer Survey template but the image is broken when the email actually sends. It would be great to be able to either embed or paste an image into the body to help identify the email is legit (lots of phishing happening) or be able to create custom email variables to reference images as needed.
