Polling Frequency Profiles

Hi,

It would be useful to have a the ability to create polling frequency profiles and then assign to a device either manually or based on a customer property.

For example.

We might have two groups of devices:

Group 1:

ICMP Poll every 1 minute

SNMP Poll every 5 minutes

DevicePriority = High

Group 2:

ICMP Poll every 2 minute

SNMP Poll every 10 minutes

DevicePriority = Medium

Based on these values it would be great for Solarwinds to assign the Polling Frequency group based on the rule, or at a minimum the ability of the user to select a profile so that you don't end up with someone making errors and having 10 different types of frequency.

How can we make this request more visible ?

It's a really useful feature as it as an impact on the global performance.

For instance, I want a high polling rate for critical devices but a standard one for "regular" devices and only availability (icmp) for the others.

Actually I have exactly the same polling across thousand of proximity switches (for which I don't care to have frequent data) and core switches ...

It's totally a non-sense.

I know that I can manage this device by device but on a big network it's unmanageable ...
