Alert that alert emails are not working

We recently had an issue where the Email actions from alerts were firing ok, but they were failing overall (The server rejected the given recipient. The server responded: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay.)

I am wondering if there is a way to setup an alert to capture if this happens again?
I've had a quick look and cant work out a way from the "I want to alert on:" field wen creating a new alert

Advice please?

ok - looks like it might be easier to use the event log as base for the alert

still struggling to actually build the alert though, advice and guidance welcome

worked out the SWQL

SELECT EventID, EventTime, Message FROM Orion.Events Where Message like '%Sending the email to%' and Message like '%failed%'

but the helpful custom swql box is being unhelpful in not actually being fully customisable

You can LEFT/RIGHT JOIN in the box immediately below if you really need to access something weird in the DB that that SWQL condition drop down doesn't allow.

That's a workaround mind, and can make some weirdness with the alerting object being tangentially related to what you're actually alerting on

so if i joined it to something that should always be true, like MPE is up?
