This is another option. I've switched to it. Report on Muted and Unmanaged Entities
-
Use this command once on the WLC show traplog In there you should see the output like I've shown in my previous post. Once you configure syslog or snmp traps, then you should be able to find the reported output and create an alert for it.

Thanks. It looks like the functionality just no longer works. I tried their suggestion but it's still just creating an account limitation using a group instead of picking the nodes etc. One thing I have noticed, is that if I pick Group of Groups as the limitation, the Active Alerts now only apply to those groups. Before…

Does the cellular backup not use IP? Sorry I don't know how the cellular backups work.
-
I did test it as well before my previous reply but I don't have a separate polling engine so I was unable to add it in. Learn something new each day.

When looking at the IP range, make sure you don't have the Filter set to DHCP Managed. Change it to All, you will then see all the IP addresses in the range including the exclusions. Hope that helps.

No worries. Log onto your server and open up Solarwinds Network Configuration Manager. Then click on Configs and select Search Configs as per image below. Then at the bottom of the page that opens on the right had side of your screen, fill out the info you're looking for. Either click on Add Devices and add in the devices…

Can you post up a screen shot of the Select Fields tab. Seems to me that you haven't put MIN, MAX or AVERAGE for the function. In the example for bps below, without the AVERAGE or MAX functions, both values will be the same.

I'm confused. Is it you that configures Solarwinds or is it the network engineers? Who ever is configuring it, should be deciding what needs to be monitored and what doesn't. And in this case what interfaces need to be monitored where there's no care for the status of it. I'm not sure what is so hard. If you are the one…

I will have to test it to see if the alert disappears (but I don't believe it does). I will test it and let you know. But instead of your customized trigger, have you used the Recommended (Reset this alert when trigger condition is no longer true) trigger? That's all I'm using.

Can you show us how you've configured it? Is anything logged in syslog when the neighbour drops off? You can always do email alerting of that.

Try running the config wizard again.

You will need to work on getting WMI operational. Until that's working correctly, Solarwinds will be unable to connect via WMI.

For me this program has always worked and was easy to setup. And it obviously works for you as well except for this one device. So that concludes that your TFTP setup must be ok. That only leaves the device you are trying to TFTP with. What is different about this device? ACL's? How is it connected to the network? Tried a…

I replied to this in Does the default config backup job do write command on cisco devices after uploaded its config?

You could add in the following trigger Caption is not equal to S:\swap But post up your whole trigger so that I can see if the above would work on your trigger.
-
The trigger in your first example is the one to use "Volume Percent Used". The 2 Disk Utils you see are custom properties that someone has created on your system. They could be used for a trigger where you write a generic trigger for all volumes but you only wish to be alerting on some. So on those volumes you change the…

Can you telnet to your WLC? Make sure your settings are correct in NPM and click on the Test button to make sure it connects as per the image below.
-
Drag your devices onto a map and click on the ConnectNow button and select an option.

sec_consultant wrote: Why is this such a PITA? *Edit* As before, it did nothing...people actually pay for this product? Geez that's a bit rough. NCM is a good product. To bag it out just because you can't get it working is not professional.

Use the Solarwinds online demo to see the product in action. https://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/ Then click on My Dashboards and select Configs

You're probably best to open your own discussion. It sounds like you can't see any utilization on any of your links. Whereas OP only had issues on a couple of their links. Are you monitoring both end interfaces in NPM?
-
Select option highlighted in yellow below. It includes who made the change. (please note this is from an older version of NCM, I assume it's available somewhere in the newer version)

Could you borrow one of your backup sups from another 4507? And just run it up in the new 4507 as a single sup?

With my custom rules, I'm finding that not all syslogs are looked at. So for example I have a rule that will forward me syslog 0, 1 & 2's. But if a device sends 4 in a minute, I will only receive one of them. I have a ticket raised for this. The old legacy syslog viewer would forward every single email. I didn't miss a…

Redo your Trigger alert. For some reason the word "field" appears before "Node Name". It should be there. Let me know how it goes.
-
Excellent! Can you please mark this question as answered?
-
Please correct me if I'm wrong but the above solution is the same as your first post? So how did it not work when you first implemented it? Or is the above solution not what you're currently using?

Run the following report and get it emailed to you. It can't be done as an Excel spreadsheet but you can cut and paste the text from the email you receive and put that into Excel and sort to your liking. This will give you the info provided the device has had an inventory done on it.
