I hope your SQL and other scripting skills are better than mine as with the base install of NPM this simply isn't achievable. You would need to install the SDK and be proficient in powershell or phyton or some other scripting language - details of all this are (so I believe and have been told) on the SDK wiki:…

Honoured and a fair bit bemused by my inclusion but thank you.
-
And for those of us not versed in using SDK's or Poershell scropts, what options do we have? This function, as per the original post, should be baked into Solarwinds....
-
Arghhh - just lost a whole post because THWACK decided to log me out and not save it even as a draft...! Let's see if I can remember my thoughts. N.B. these are all additional to all my other points Now we've upgraded to 2023.3.1 I can start to see some of the requests I and others have made coming through - such as map…

Congrats Ben - it was your Modern Dashboard articles that persuaded me I needed to get into using them, and now wouldn't consider any SolarWInds setup complete without one Does this also mean we can come to you for question resets in the monthly challenges ???

Big LOLz at "lack of ability to hide effectively". Thanks for this Mark. Will definitely look at the other two posts as well as I am very much an accidental DBA.
-
Sadly it is looking less and less likely that I can make this. I am gutted.

Well hello again and welcome to "another side" > Lover of fiction Any specific "section" of fiction (i.e. science, fantasy, short, horror, mystery, literary, etc...?) I'm currently going through David Wong's (a pseudonym for Jason Pargin) series centred around a character called Zoe Ashe; and halfway through the 2nd of 3.…

Hey Tony - only seen this article because it came across my Twitter feed. I, and probably @"silverbacksays" are still waiting on that contact from you to discuss OM's inadequacies. I did, as you asked and dropped an IM but haven't heard anything yet... My fledgling list of issues with OM is: (and in no precise order...) *…

As a first time attendee (that nearly wasn't - but that's a different story**) then I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of you and all my fellow MVPs and other THWACKsters. The sessions I attended were excellent, and as you say had plenty of interaction. The location was fine - bar my fridge on the first…

Nice one KMSigma and team. And I echo @"the_ben_keen" comments.

@"cxb2341" This is not really a feature request as it sounds like you need to update the ssh ciphers. If you are running an older than 2024.2.1 version of SW then the easiest answer is to upgrade. This post [ SSH - Connection Refused Cipher Updates - An F.Y.I. ] talks about solving this issue for Fortinet FWs running newer…

We actually completed our upgrade last night from 2019.4, and I'm still a little sleepy from the late start but not so late finish! We were unsure if the new, 'quicker' approach would work, so we had already downloaded the offline install update and manually copied to our 14 servers. Anyway, colour us very happy after…

Well I got the right answer anyway. But as proof that it wasn't the link you shared first thing I now see that my today response (despite getting it correct) has been reset which I guess vindicates what I said.

What is it with my ID that makes it so hard to tag on THWACK? LOL This is what I get: But that isn't me ANYWAY: welcome old and new and HUGE thanks to those that have departed our ranks [I think mostly because they are now employed by Solarwinds] and also thanks to Solarwinds and the THWACK team for keeping this tradition…

Have you tried using PDF viewer? The ability to 'sign' the document also allows you to add text. It's a kludge but PDFs are beautifully zoomable.

Agreed and I've voted this up, but this very much fits in with SolarWInds addressing user rights granularity. This aspect would hiopefully be addressed by this FR: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/product-forums/network-performance-monitor-npm/i/feature-requests/granular-node-management-rights

Dang ... missed this one due to annual leave. Ah well.
-
Plus 1'd this. Here we are in 2021 and from my perspective SolarWInds appear to have stuck their heads into the proverbial sand and ignored this vital subject. Other than a couple of labs (which start at a higher level than I need) and the original two posts in a series by michael100 (which everyone seems to reference)…

And I thought I'd escaped the picture, or at least would be way too blurry. [tag:darktheme]

Well I'm not a huge crossword / puzzle fan so really struggled until I tried to think of all the words I might know that started and ended as this one does. After a bit of noodling around in my head I went with the answer but wasn't convinced until I got the green tick

Sorry, but cat pics are the absolute worst. Keep them in your wallet The primary problem with security (IMO) is that software/website/etc creators don't make it easy to be secure. They need to make security second nature for people like my wife. It's all well and good an IT pro being aware of how to be secure and using an…

4 was a real struggle but my son (who is one) got it. SPLIT the word into two i.e. ELOPER ERATION - and then think of a job title that has become popular in IT this past decade, but that no-one can actually seem to define what one does. 13 across was horrible - think of alternative words for 'many part'. Finally - jumble…
-
Dang ... mussed up yesterday's question. For some reason my brain translated the word one to multiple. Anyway, I don't need any Airpod Pros as I literally have just been gifted a pair by my company

Also, the topology connection options still needs a lot of work. We need the flexibility to be able to chop and change the types of connection we have per device, not per map. An example - here's a simple (ish) map: If I turn off "manually created connections" I get: even though I didn't create two of those links - the…

> Wireless Heat Maps are now available in Intelligent Maps. @"jvb" will these be a "static one and done" like the older NA heatmaps? By this I mean, in NA when you generate the heatmap it is a snapshot in time at that moment. It isn't a live map in that if an AP goes down the coverage map adapts to show status of cover -…

Or indeed probably anybody outside of North America. i.e. me - a baby boomer.

@"yumdarling" OK thanks. So this: "It's in the terms and conditions and how we do it every month (barring my forgetfulness)." must explain why I've seen prior months not have the prize for the prior week awarded. No worries, and I realise I can still do them all to be entered for the grand prize but I can't generte the…

well I still got it wrong having read both pages... several times :)
