Can you create an alert so that the administrator can notified when the F5's in an active/stanby situation fails over?
I have the same query..
There is an out of the box H\A sync status change alert that I believe would essentially cover this.
Except the out of the box alert doesnt work. I worked with support to try and create a new alert when the F5 fails over and that one doesn't work either.
I need this alert as well. HA status doesn't signify a failover event. If HA is still up, but the active fails over, this would not trigger an alert.
I created 5 different alerts, one for each state of the "F5 Failover Status" (Unknown, Offline, forcedOffline, Active, Standby) My expectation is that when ever one of the Applainces changes state, it will trigger one of these alerts and the name of the alert tells me which state the applaince just went into... The email comes to me with the subject "myltm.mycompany.org F5 Status > Active {date} {time}"
Have yet to see a unscheduled failover, but I did get about 50 alerts when I first added them that gave me the current state of everything...

--Update: I have seen a couple failovers and the notifications are working as expected. I get an email for the old Primary going Standby and a second email for the previous StandBy going Active...
rswinter - can you share the makeup of these alertsplease? Screenshots of them would be great?
This is what I have setup... I created a separate alert for each potential "failover status". Trigger action is just simple Email with this in the subject line: ${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.Caption} ${N=Alerting;M=AlertName} at ${N=Alerting;M=AlertTriggerTime;F=DateTime}
No reset Action as the other Alert for the "new" status would send that alert.
Thank you. Most helpful
@rswinter is there a reason you made separate alerts for each and didn't set up an OR trigger with each of the statuses?
This looks like it is current supported.
