Is SQL 2008 R2 Express) also supported? It seems to work, but I'm just wonderig if it is supported.

jezkerwin: I've configured the second server as only an automation server, have set the automation server rules so that each wsus server will handle the request and I'm still getting server2 executing tasks to clients that are on server1

Oscar - did you ever succeed with this. I am trying to do it now and looking for the best way of doing it. I can see that by putting in the relevant config string pointing to the config.xml file (and then using procmon.exe to check) it successfully calls the file but doesn't run. If anyone did get this working either with…

Couple questions on what you did to get it to work correctly. You mentioned that you copied the network install to the server itself. Did you have to save it to any specific location, if so where? Are you just running the .exe or did you create a batch file that runs the .msp along with the setup.exe. Did you have any…

I can beta again if needed.

As soon as we get the notification that it is available, we will let you know. Thanks for your patience.

OK, have managed to get the console up and running. But am now having trouble adding credentials. While in Security and User Management within the Credentials tab and trying to add my domain credentials ( format [i:6c5eaea8f3]domain\myuserid[/i:6c5eaea8f3]) I get the following error Source: Csla Device: Failed to create…

I will investigate with our internal packaging and testing resources. Please give me 12 hours to get you some feedback as it is now 9pm in the U.S.

Go to Eminentware System Configuration and modify your existing credential ring. Add a computer rule for the WSUS/EminentWare Server and assign the local built-in administrator account credentials to that rule. For more on credentials please see section '4.2.1 Credentials' of the administration guide:…

I've manually imported and synced, ran the emm sync etc. The package is present, but there are no rules for them

Mike, Try leaving that box blank (you'll need to republish your package to the WSUS server). The /i option is implied as well, no need to specify it. John

To better describe the requirements for using SQL Server 2008 with the EminentWare extension pack . . . The link in the first post will direct you to the Feature Pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - December 2008 webpage. There are two objects that you will require from that collection. 1. The Microsoft SQL 2005 Native…

If the Windows Installer does not see a machine-based installation of Adobe Reader v9.4.0, the Adobe Reader v9.4.1 MSP-based update will not be installed. For those machines that do have downlevel versions of Adobe Reader installed, e.g. Adobe Reader v9.3, v9.2, etc., which you've stated is true for some machines, this is…

or I need to enable on all clients 'File and Print Sharing' ?

Hi, glad to hear that you got past the issue. I cant understand why opening RPC traffic would have any effect on making a successful call to WSUS as this is all Web Service based. Opening those ports could change other things related to WMI. Anyways, if your good, we're good. ;-)

i have not seen the update yet. Unfortunately there seems to be no rush on releasing the fix.
-
Looking for release in the next 30 days.

I did all steps according with presentation video, but on my wsus server (same server as EWare) were aplied all 3rd party appz well, with no errors. I did verified certifications for server publishing setup, server publishing verification and client publis. setup, thats looks well, no errors, but when I look into the task…

Thank Lawrence, But in my original post - the machine in question already has 9.4.0. Are you saying that even if it has 9.4.0 I should put 9.4.0 in the update list along with the 9.4.1 upgrade?
-
"assign a computer rule for the local EminentWare/WSUS server." How is this done?
-
Separate SQL Server instance.
-
It is completely possible. Please see the post before this. Also, if you want you, you can create a self extracting exe with all the necessary files (if you need more customization.) I like the Chilkat Self-Extracting creator personally. Once again, quite possible.

DavidG: This is often related to UAC. It could also be related to some registry permissions. Please send a email to Customer Support with your availability and we will schedule a webmeeting and get you fixed up. Thanks David, but It was the firewall settings on the WSUS server. I made two changes to let the RCP traffic via…

This system is dedicated to a group of Desktop and Laptops with Windows 7 - no server, no XP, no 64 bit. I did as you said: 1. Killed the installed ruleset 2. Changed the applicability ruleset to: <sdp:ApplicabilityRule SchemaVersion="1.0"> <lar:And> <bar:FileExists Path="EminentWare\WMI…

Greetings, Adobe has a 10.x update catalog available, you just need to run the EminentWare Update Configuration Wizard (again) to synch, since we've added it (obviously) since the last time you ran that wizard. -tonya
