Certainly, we are using the x86 package. Thanks!

James.Watson: I did end up getting a 2010 package to deploy properly. I ended up copying our network install over to a directory on the server itself, then publishing the .exe and adding the remainder of the files as additional files to be used in the package. This included the custom .msp installer that I had added the…

Please check and set the following registry keys/values: HKLM\Software\EminentWare\Logging If this key doesnt exist, please create it. Create/Set the following registry values: All these are REG_DWORD Options: 3 Level: 3 Enable: 1 Please restart the EminentWare Server service and send us the logs at our secure site at…

Yes it is. package: 11.2.202.233 Plugin MSI (32bit) I have tried removing flash from the target machine then updating via wsus. It still produces the same behaviour.

Along with the msiexec /i or /a option as well, in EW. It installed fine from the command line, with the options.

hey guys what is the news on X64 support for console ???

Jeff, the Extension Pack does not support the use of a remote database server. The database service must be located on the Extension Pack server. Having said that, a variation of the deployment allows you to install the Management Role server on your organizational database server. Some DBAs, however, may be reticent to do…

OK, couple of things to understand. Is the server AFAFG-Pp-sccm01.AFCORP.AFG a Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2? If so, is UAC enabled? If it is enabled, please change/find the credential you have assigned to this server in the credential ring to the built in local Administrator account. UAC filters the Administrators group…

Cool. thanks.

Sorry, there isnt technically a supported way to do this, so please submit a feature request. This is pretty simple so please send the request so we can add.

Is the updated package available? I've ran into the same issue. Jim Webb

Another possible cause of this error is if something has deleted or renamed the EWLICENSE.LIC file under \Program Files\EminentWare\Server. If that file is missing on your server, please contact customersupport@eminentware.com.

With EminentWare and WSUS residing on the same machine UAC token filters permissions for all admin accounts accept the actual local Administrator account. So when provisioning the server with the Signing Cert you will either need to add a credential in the credential ring using THE local Administrator for the local server…

Provided Hotfix solved the issue. Thanks, Gavin

This is often related to UAC. It could also be related to some registry permissions. Please send a email to Customer Support with your availability and we will schedule a webmeeting and get you fixed up.

<snip> Edit: sounds great David. I hope to be using this as well one of these days.

May not be as simple as that. You will need to verify how it is stored in the class.

We would really like to start using the 3rd Party Update Pack. Is there any additional information I can provide which might help to resolve this issue? Patrick
-
Please check this video out to make sure you have provisioned your environment to enable 3rd Party Updates... https://www.eminentware.com/cs2008/media/p/405.aspx Note: The originally linked video is no longer available. These procedures are covered in the Patch Manager Administrator Guide.

Thanks for the help, I've been able to resolve the problem. It was the version that was causing the problem. the second server was at the newer patch level then the existing. updated the existing to 004 and it worked fine.

This is expected behavior. The Adobe Reader v9.4.1 update will only install on an existing installation of Adobe Reader v9.4.0. Most likely the machines are showing compliant because a valid update has not been identified as applicable to those machines. If you publish the Adobe Reader v9.4.0 package and add it to the…

1 other thing. I have a separate SQL instance installed on each server, should I only have 1 instance and point all Eminentware servers to that 1 SQL instance?

* Applicability Rule: Windows Version >= 5 You're going to need to write a more functional Applicability Ruleset than this. This ruleset is defective, will always return TRUE, and as such will cause problems on systems that do not have the WMI Providers installed. I described in my previous post the appropriate logic to be…

It seems that the prerequsite rules aren't populated, just the Processor Arch are listed... not the MSI rules and such. Although to be fair it isn't too difficult to fix that detail... Just curious why the new stuff isn't there but the updates for the versions that carve PDFs into stone tablets are.

Thanks, we will test this. Can you tell us which package specifically you are using (x86 or x64)?

Kelly, I wanted to follow up and see if there was any headway made on this. Thank you for your time and assistance and have a great weekend.

> I had seen this article before, however are servers do not have office loaded, and this issue is refering to the office 2003 To clarify this point... while the servers may not have Office 2003 specifically loaded, the article does not state that is the criteria. What the article states is: "Computers that have Office…

Hi Hellemg, It is a wizard launched by left-clicking Update Services, then right-clicking Update Services and selecting "Update Services Registration Management" (or by selecting it in the right-hand Actions pane) -Kelly
