when attempting to "Create self-seigned certificate"
I get an error message
The provisioning process is complete. The distribution of the signing certificate to the required servers may have failed.Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
since the error message is not clear I had no Idea where to start or what to try, I started reading article 80 until it passed this topic and watched part of the new video by Lawrence about this topic and it passed this topic since the simulation didn't have a problem.
Thanks
Nassim
Hi Nassim,
We have a known issues where you may have to refresh the WSUS server in the tree control on the left side of the console. Here's a somewhat related post: https://www.eminentware.com/cs2008/forums/t/176.aspx
If that doesn't allow the certificate to be published, send your availability to customersupport@eminentware.comwww.solarwinds.com/customerportal and we'll troubleshoot online.
John
well unfortunately non of what was mentioned worked, I refreshed several times , once , twice, but nothing worked. The link helps someone who has already provisioned,
in my case it can't even get a first provisioning to publish a certificate. I am stuck.
Hi Nassimjd,
Send your availability tomorrow (Weds.) to www.solarwinds.com/customerportal and we'll troubleshoot online. We are at GMT-6.
I am having the same issue was there a resolution to this issue?
If the EminentWare software and the WSUS are on the same server use the local administrator account.
With EminentWare and WSUS residing on the same machine UAC token filters permissions for all admin accounts accept the actual local Administrator account. So when provisioning the server with the Signing Cert you will either need to add a credential in the credential ring using THE local Administrator for the local server or if you prefer to use A local admin and not THE local Administrator account you will need to disabled UAC.
Solution 1: Disabled User Account Controls (UAC)
Solution 2: Provide the local Administrator credentials in the credential ring and assign a computer rule for the local EminentWare/WSUS server.

"assign a computer rule for the local EminentWare/WSUS server." How is this done?
