Thanks This has been fixed in NPM 12 with a discovery profile for automated imports. Works a charm, most the time.
-
Oh wow this is awesome! It has bugged me for a while now, thanks aLTeReGo
-
Thanks aLTeReGo Ill keep choosing the volume for Physical Memory and await the new features within SAM 6.3 for exclusions within discovery. Thank you
-
Yes, I will be there (UK)
-
I like this idea a lot! Very very useful!
-
I am going through this process right now, thanks for the pointers, it has really helped!

Dear Network, We are sorry that you have been neglected all this time, you are indeed a mess but you have stood by us throughout and not caused us any problems. Next year we will change that. We will tidy you up and make you proud once again. The cabling situation will be rectified. No longer will you be an embarrassment.…

Yes you can monitor a load of databases. But, still costs 50 licenses per server. Would be nice to turn off parts of the template, despite how good it is.
-
danielgilbey aLTeReGo just a quick query - The monitoring of Memory...by selecting CPU and Memory does this negate the need to select Physical / Virtual Memory? What do we get more by selecting both? and Monitoring as a volume (other than using a license for Volume) Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, it is a question I…
-
The monitor really is great. Just a shame you can't disable parts of the template like on others and therefore it costs 50 licenses per server...
-
I second that Deltona I have that to do in the New Year..
-
I reapplied the tamplate against it yes. And that is fine. There are no firewall / AV issues. All has been unblocked before now.
-
Unfortunately not. It is really strange, I just don't see how the agent can install and return uptime data but not allow me to see disk/cpu etc The other random point is that there is an application monitor against one of the servers, monitoring a process is running and it is using the "inherit credentials from node"…
-
Sorry, it is a bit of an odd one. 1 - both Servers managed via WMI and everything displayed as expected 2 - Installed Agents, can see in Console as being available, no resources, unable to list them or discover them
-
No, added them manually. I have since ran the discovery in the hope it would discover what wasn't being listed via List Resources, but no that failed too.
-
They used to be WMI managed nodes, but due to security requirements the agent was deployed and since it has installed these 2 machines have had issues. I have had to delete them from Orion as part of the troubleshooting. I ran a network discovery against just the 2 devices and it still didn't pick anything up
-
Sounds like a plan. SDK isn't as easy as I was hoping it would be. Time to learn T-SQL a bit better I think. I will post any and all solutions
-
The more you know Thanks for your help with this, much appreciated.
-
Stop using Basic Alert Manager. That is the answer move the alert into the Advance Alert Manager, you have more options and it is easier. I haven't even got the option of using Basic anymore.
-
Hi sumitk We are just putting in our new environment now, with a similar size and product range as you, we are using - 1 HP ProLiant DL360 G9 E5-2630 server with 2 Processors (16 core), 48GB RAM and 3 300GB 15k disks in RAID1. This will host - NPM, SAM, NCM, UDT, IPAM, NTA, VNQM Then we have a VM for the NTA DB An SQL…
-
Yeah, bit strange isn't it. The way my morning is going though, nothing is working
-
Looks like a job for support unfortunately then. They are standard built servers. There is nothing different at all.. If anything else comes to mind please let me know
-
Yes, I have done all those things. Uninstalled, installed from Console and locally Changed account it is running as They are normal domain member server, built from an image. They have all the same GPO's applied and the same software as other member file servers.
-
Thanks Dan, It looks like its not working exactly right. The alert is now triggering - which is great, but it is ignoring the conditions to NOT alert if a part of the "Critical" or "High" groups, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
-
Yes, aLTeReGo that is the way I managed it in the end. Thanks
-
Yes, it was vulnerable and exploitable. However we have a solution - agent based polling. The most secure method currently available from SolarWinds - totally encrypted traffic along 1 port between poller and device. Thanks for your help HolyGuacamole

In "Trigger Condition"

A simple Browser change has resolved this. Been using Firefox all day (no add ons) and using the rotating NOC view, so far no crashes. Thanks for all that helped
-
Yeah, that is pretty much what I was thinking, which seems a bit odd! Might be a better way to do it with SQL, if only I knew SQL better

Group Membership. So, to enable better alerting/capacity/availability management we have grouped all things relating to a Business Service into a group. On the Group Details page I wanted to add the Capacity Resource so that we could easily view the Capacity forecast per Service and thus, plan appropriately.
