I am sure there are risks But to not offer this option in bulk is madness. I would be backing up the db prior to doing any changes. I suspect I am not joining tables correctly to get all the info that I need.

Thanks again, it will be something I look at once I have got to a point within the implementation where I can spend the time on it. The SDK I mean.
-
Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall it. The install files should be within c:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Installers
-
Well, that is odd. That is how mine looks and all is as I would expect. I haven't seen the WMI issue previously. If you go to Settings > Manage Agents can you find your node and it all OK?
-
Exceptions are in place globally, these 2 servers are the ones having issues. I have checked it and this is not the issue
-
Same OS as other devices working fine, same config etc Nothing unique, they are generic windows file servers, we have others which work fine.
-
I am a bit of a beginner when it comes to joins like that. As it happens I do have a couple of Dynamic Groups that pick up the stragglers not part of Critical or High description groups. But, would it be better as you have it? Adam

OOO that sounds interesting CourtesyIT do tell more, where you can. Think we are going to use the FF with plug in route as a short term solution.
-
Long shot, and an old case, but how would you go about monitoring a java app that runs within an interactive session on a windows machine monitored using an agent. The app is not web based and the only process is java.exe Wanted something a bit more robust to monitor
-
Thanks, but all plug-ins are installed and everything looks fine sgtp
-
Indeed goodzhere but for now, this will suffice for me, even though it isn't really what I want. Feature Request needs approval methinks.
-
Its not too difficult to add the required OID/MIB's, we would do this but it is a vendor supported system that is still being implemented. Might as we use their talents Good luck getting yours sorted!

Having just been on a webinar, the demo kit had the drop down for interfaces, which definitely suggests that I need to hurry up with the NPM installation. That option will fix it for me. Thank you.
-
I wouldn't put them on separate servers, they work better on the same server. For us, I have put NTM on a different server with the additional webserver installed there, the rest that you have listed are on the same server.

Hmm, perhaps not Domain Admin permissions, but local admin...which is pretty bad on a server.. http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/1672/Troubleshooting+Windows+Management+Instrumentation+%28WMI%29 Verify Administrator Credentials Only a credential that has administrator rights on the target server has the…
-
Thanks So, if i put the Read Only group higher than the Admin group which way will the permissions apply?
-
Thank you for getting back to me. At least this way I have a definite answer
-
We are in a similar boat really, unsure if we need it but have bought it anyway.... I am going to use it to split the polling for different devices so the core will do LAN polling and the APE will do WAN based stuff. In this instance I think the elements are all the separate things you are monitoring, so as below if you…

Sorry it isn't more help macinnesr My server is over spec'd big time, but the Business Layer Host was crashing (for Agent Management) at 1.4Gb of use. Might be worth a look when it has a crash. I would also send across in the support request all your event ID's that are generated, the full breakdown of what happens and…

Have you set the "only apply alert to specific nodes" option or is it set to alert on all nodes.. Its a simple tick box, easily missed
-
Thanks. Separate SQL server, full fat version. I don't see how this is a fix. The NOC is built to cycle through the tabs you setup within the web console...from what you are saying I should install another browser, and a plug in to then workaround this issue,.....
-
?? The Agent is the most secure method of managing nodes.... But, each environment is different I suppose.
-
This is the Audit Message - changed Technology 'Status & Response Time' Polling 'Status & Response Time ICMP' assignment on NetObject 'Node:%node name%' state to 'Enabled=True
-
Yes, but there is nothing within there that jumps out as being the correct area to edit

Hi silverbacksays I have just tested the View limitation idea, unfortunately, this doesnt work. Which annoys me even more.
-
Morning silverbacksays I had thought about doing that, create a specific view with the details I need for each "group" and then limit it for the entire page, it just seems a long drawn out process. Definitely an option. I am currently downloading the Orion SDK in the vain hope it helps me to map the tables in the DB…
-
silverbacksays that is genius. Way to think out of the box my friend! I took an export of the Nodes with Agent Polling and pasted it into a Network Discovery, removed all credentials and profiles and tuned it to ensure only the nodes exported where scanned. Ran the tool, imported the volumes I wanted and away we go. If I…

Thanks cahunt this indeed changes the menu bar, and is quite useful. I can make this work for what I want. It isn't, as goodzhere says, a new menu bar in addition to the module menu bars (tabs or whatever you want to call them) but it certainly works well for what I need right now. New menu/tabs would be very good.
-
Could you pop a link to the feature request please, we can then direct people that way through this discussion goodzhere
-
Yes I know, but I figured it would be something we could customise to give us more scope to create views and menus. In my example, I wanted to create a few Capacity related views and reports and give access to only the colleagues that need it.
