Right now in the beta it's a binary choice: Node status can be set either by ICMP response time or SNMP response time. Based on feedback, we could certainly look to change the behavior.
-
If you do hit upon any issues, please let me know and we'll jump on it.
-
Indeed, the fix for this has already shown up in the NPM 11 beta. Beta has been out for some time, so likely there is RC on the horizon.
-
Quite strange. If the address was recently updated, it will take a few minutes to update. To rule out any mapquest vagary, it would be good to sanity check the address: http://www.mapquest.com/

Ideally, would you look to be able to build a rack-elevation diagram in Orion (including the non-IP physical devices)?
-
Interfaces as well, so we would want to make sure the overall statistics retention period is greater than the calculation duration.
-
If you have time, check out the duplex mismatch detection in beta for v12: NPM 12.0 Beta1 Now Available Duplex setting is also available column for interface resources in this beta.

Will ping offline in just a moment.
-
Got it. Thank you sir!
-
Can you telnet to 8080 from another machine to that server? If it doesn't even handshake, that would usually point to (Windows) firewall. If so, can we confirm it's off?
-
Got it- that would be difficult to do within the construct of the old report writer without resorting to custom SQL, and one of the reasons why we made sure to have multiple resources available in new reports in 10.6. If you have a maintenance window to upgrade in the near future, it would definitely make your life easier.

With the dev / QA overhead associated with a release, it is more a matter of having a technical driver for a SR than a time-bound event. We can certainly discuss with our dev management team to see if we can proceduralize for the future.

If you are running NPM 11.5, it should autodiscover nodes and applications for that traffic, otherwise we would need to manually specify which nodes / applications to filter:
-
Correct, the restricted user should not be able to sign into that box.

We do populate Lat/Long tables as lookups are performed. Support ticket is likely the best path forward if we're not seeing nodes populated: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/

Unfortunately our legal / finance types get a bit nervous when we talk about dates. Very likely there will a new highly-polished beta next week.
-
Good to hear. New thread on the OSX issue would probably make it easier for tracking and for others to contribute.
-
Gotcha- "Custom Table" resource is only available in Web-Based reporting in NPM 10.6 or later. (Home->Reports)

All maps are contained in MapStudioFiles table. The best way for moving them elsewhere is backup of this table from original place and restore it to the target database

Unless all of those devices are the same make / model, we can rule out device-specific issues. We may want to open a support ticket: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/
-
Surely- release notes here: SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor Release Notes
-
Which "Technology" did you select for the poller? Was the desire to map HWH to CPU chart for visibility? UnDP may be a better choice: http://www.solarwinds.com/resources/videos/universal-device-pollers-undp-solarwinds-training-network-performance-monitor.html
-
Outside of the admin guide, we don't have further documentation. I believe a KB is in the works. If auto-dependencies are enabled, we we will recalculate dependencies every topology polling interval. Auto-dependencies are displayed on Manage Dependencies grid as "Calculated Automatically" under "Origin." If a calculated…

Not the finished reports, but custom table / custom chart resources from reporting are available in 10.7. The ability to embed finished reports is a known feature we need to port over.
-
Indeed sir- it is a pain. We're working on a solution to package cumulative HF to avoid this.
-
Absolutely, please let us know if we can help.
-
Byron, 7.1.1 should work just fine with the version of core that ships with 10.6.
