After spending the morning working my way through it I've produced a pair of UnDP pollers one for Route and the other for Switch processor utilisation. They may work with standalone 6500's but they were created from a VSS pair so may need tweaking to get working exactly how you want them. Normally the Solarwinds chart…

Ryan Got it working, thanks for the info. I've now run the inventory on a couple of our servers and routers, but when I come to view the services, installed apps, accounts and routing tables nothing shows up in the inventory even though it shows it going through the motions on the inventory screen. Our servers are Windows…

Ryan Thanks for that managed to download them now. They don't seem to work though, nothing new is shown in the inventory settings, there are two install log files in the Config management installs folder so I assume they installed OK. Any ideas? Jon

I've just looked in the additional components for Cirrus and there is nothing there. Jon

Bump Anyone?

Update - I've managed to now get some devices reporting correctly. I've changed my Cisco switch node details view to tabs with all chart health monitoring on a separate tab and it it seems to of resolved the issue for the majority of devices. There are still a few that are not displaying anything.

I've had the same issue trying to get vlan info for ports on a Catalyst switch, it returns the first interface and then no others. I think it's because most suppliers now put that sort of information in MIB tables and as yet the Custom MIB poller does not support retrieval of a table and as most of Cisco's useful interface…

Did a compact and now the db size is down to 6 gig and I've scheduled this to happen weekly. Thanks Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK

Yes, I noticed the same problem when I tried to run our WAN utilisation report for Mon-Fri 08:00 - 18:00 and the same thing happened. You need to download the report writer exclusions again and add them as per the instructions. Works after that. Thanks Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK

This is a response I received from Solarwinds for the problem Thank you for contacting SolarWinds.Net. I would first recommend the following steps: 1. Close all Internet Explorer browsers. 2. Add IISUSER_SOLARWINDS to the Administrator's group. 3. Open the Shutdown NetPerfMon tool which is located under Start/SolarWinds…

I don't know if it's a bug in EA8 but I've just upgraded some of our 2950's to EA8a and it works fine with SNMP with no config changes. HTH Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK

The custom pollers I've put in the sharing zone, work for our 2950, 2960, 2970, 3560 and 3750 switches I don't know about routers as we don't have any.

Chris I've got a custom mib setup to display the serial number of our Cisco switches. Jon

While I cant speak to the long-term plans for integrating the products, I can say that we will always have a stand-alone ipMonitor product available to SolarWinds customers. We are working on an upgrade path that enables you to go from one solution to the next. No pricing has been finalized as this acquisition was just…

Yes, there is a way of doing it you use the time and date filtering this is an add-on that can be found on the solarwinds website if you have maintenance on Orion. We created a chart that was 8-6 Mon-Fri which gave us the results we required. Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK

Option 2 for us as none of our NPM traffic goes through a firewall so don't hit this issue.

I upgraded from 7.4 and put 7.7 straight over the top I took a backup of the web site and Orion config just in case, but the upgrade worked a treat and I had no problems. Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK

I haven't had any problems since upgrading to 7.7, went like a dream. The first time I tried to connect to the system manager I got a similar problem but I restarted the server and gave it a while and tried again and it worked fine. Thanks Jon Hill IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK

James This question needs to go into the Cirrus forum. But to try and help you out we are running a mixed infrastructure here between 3COM and Cisco, predomently 4400 and 40x0 on the 3COM side and because these devices have a menu based command line they are very limited to what can be achieved through Cirrus. The 55, 77…

Map maker can display utilisation and response times see below, just create them in a normal txt box. We use them on our WAN map on each segment again to show the managers how much the WAN's being utilised. In Util: ${inpercentutil} Out Util: ${outpercentutil} Response Time ${AvgResponseTime} HTH

Thanks for the update Chris, I think we would all agree it would be better to have it work in v8 than v7 and have to make changes for v8. Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK

ASL-Support, That's great, how do I go about doing this myself? Thanks Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK

Devin When I setup some bandwidth usage tests it set the last-value as 200k and the short-term at 50k and sample is the same, I would be good if these could be set in a template so when a new test is added it uses whatevers in template rather than IPMonitors defaults. I use the following on all our gig interfaces. I might…

I have the admin package, it makes life easier for administration although it can take an age pulling down the node list into the system manager. You can create new maps and reports but you do have to copy them to the Orion server and visa versa if you need to edit reports and maps remotely. Overall once the node list was…

See below response from support, it worked for me. I have reviewed the Wire shark and found that the SNMP version 1 is not liking the get next command. Please try the following on your Cirrus. The lightning bolt by the file in teh toolbar un check this so it is greed out then re check it to where it comes back up. Jon

Hi Steve One big reason for choosing Syslog over traps is that currently Orion does not support traps but as you say the syslog server is very powerful and will only get better with future versions. It would be nice to be able to choose between syslog or traps as some devices do not support syslog but supports traps. Hope…
