jefflby - Here are a couple of other options for integration as well you may want to investigate. https://docs.opsgenie.com/docs/integrations/solarwinds-integration and https://www.pagerduty.com/docs/guides/solarwinds-integration-guide/

Correct - this behavior is as designed for the time being. It will change in the future and allow you to size the object when it is connected.
-
Thanks grantallenby. I know we have a ton of your requests documented and you have been involved in user sessions etc... so we appreciate the feedback. As you mentioned the new Maps feature added in the latest release is a starting point. We understand that a localized interpretation is not the way everyone wishes to view…

alang Have you taken a look at the 2.1 Beta? I cannot state specifics in the public forum for now, but I would be highly interested if you have the opportunity to take a look. The target user/ group for EOC can certainly include leadership or perhaps a Service Desk, but also include customers that function more similarly…
-
Just for total clarity, I assume in general, it is necessary to continue monitoring these interfaces? Instead of adding nodes for the module, would you be able to just add the specific interfaces on the far side you care about? Just want to throw out ideas as we just don't have that functionality yet. The other option…

Awesome! Would love to see some examples if you are able to share. Is the goal just to make it easier to interpret what is represented? What other elements do you have to have as a part of this type of map? Customized labels or text as an example?
-
Did you validate that KB2999226 is installed?
-
Correct. You cannot share the same database between two separate instances. If you did decide to deploy two separate instances, you could ultimately leverage the Enterprise Operations Console. EOC would provide an extended layer of visibility for both instances, but not provide a single management/ administration layer.…

joelgarnick - That is not entirely accurate. Allow me to clarify. Orion Maps is a project dedicated to providing a revamped engine for creating visual representations of your environment as a feature of the Orion Platform. The goal of this endeavor is to tackle a massive project while doing the best to provide value along…

Here is the latest as well - the link is subject to change in the future - ORION PLATFORM 2019.4 - ORION MAPS RC (NPM Forum)

Here is a KB that goes through scalability engines and scalability by product: https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/NPM_Documentation/Scalability_Engine_Gui… Please let me know if there is any confusion. I would certainly recommend syncing up with your Account Manager and a SE to…

Thanks for sharing hebridean - so the connections that will automatically be shown are the topology connections identified through NPM's Topology discovery. Typically if you are missing a connection you would expect, I recommend validating that against the NPM Topology Widget. This can typically be found on a Node Details…

Opening a support case is the proper route to go. This ensures visibility is given to the issue and if any bugs are identified, they are properly tracked and tied to customer feedback.
-
Correct. Select multiple nodes and then hit Edit properties to get that option. In a quick glance I did not see a SWIS verb for that option so I don't see the SDK being viable in this case.
-
beerholder - Apologies for the late reply as I have been out of the office. You are correct, there is no upgrade path from EOC 1.6.3 to 2.0. The error you posted is one I have not seen before. Have you by chance generated a ticket with support so that we can take a look?

With EOC 2.0, the diagnostics are able to be captured in the same manner a remote instance is. Please be sure to upload those to the case. By crashing on demand, you mean when executing the report you attempted to run previously, correct? And to clarify further, this issue is only occurring if attempting to "preview" the…
-
Thanks rbmarshall - we will see what we can do. I have created a case to investigate for a future release. Listing the ticket details and providing a link to the SN instance may be something that isn't too difficult to accomplish, but again we will need to investigate.
-
@adelp - I don't think you are crazy sir. It appears from my testing and double-checking with a developer that we do have a bug here. The value is here but it seems to be missing the actual "property" which is what I believe you are looking for. So if somehow this field gets removed, you really have no way of adding it…
-
Keep in mind that interfaces and ports, while obviously may be similar in real life, are a bit different in the SolarWinds World. Interfaces as monitored by NPM should typically be links you care to see performance statistics on or in this case understand topology. So very often in NPM you are monitoring critical trunks…

This might be something interesting to you. The Custom Tile widget provides a quick and easy method for rolling up status of entities, while eliminating having to scroll through endless lists. It will also highlight the most excessive alerts seen from this group of entities. This is available in the Widget Drawer of course…
-
Yes - Custom Chart is also available in the web based report writer. As a matter of fact it is one of the first two options that show up when creating a new report. Just to clarify, you essentially have two options. Create a view/dashboard that can be emailed out as the web page through the use of the Report Scheduler, or…
-
Hmmm - let me see if I can find a string poller to test with in my lab, but I would actually assume you should be getting something back regardless correct? Shouldn't the current polled value be OK? Also try setting warning to something other than the is empty field as well. Set it to an actual value and test.

Fantastic info wandie64. As mentioned before, we are looking at options and hope to have something to share sooner than later. Your Network Atlas image also brings up a number of other questions I have about what you would like to see. However, this might be better for one of our UX sessions. If you are open to the idea,…

I would still want to start with understanding what is important to you. This would really help identify what your needs are, and be able to point you in the right direction. However, there are certainly massive differences between the two products. ipMonitor is an application that has been around for well over a decade.…
-
bfaltys - you have a couple of ways in which you can do this. If you are customizing a resource under a particular view, it won't impact other views, but it could impact other accounts or users that have access to that view. You can create a view and then customize accounts to have particular limitations so that when a…
-
Absolutely. And As I stated before, this is perfect feedback and I think we can make some improvements here. ipMonitor is really focused on Monitors first. This is really the most important aspect of the tool. I think we can certainly look at improvements where devices aren't considered secondary citizens in some of the…
-
orionfan and jhandberg - the new Orion Maps sub-view should be taking in data that is present in NPM. In the groups you created, you both mention there are areas in which you expect to see connections but do not. If you go to a node details of one of the devices which should have more connections in the group, does the…
-
Great! It would be awesome to see some of the example dashboards you created if possible. Might be useful to others in the future.
-
Great - glad I clarified. I moved this thread to the Network Performance Monitor forum but let me see if I can give you something to get you started. What I might do however may depend on how many stores, and how many devices are at each store. Can you provide a bit more context and the use case the customer needs this for?
