I would highly encourage checking out the latest release of Orion Maps - Orion Platform 2019.4 - Orion Maps is Now Available

@"pkbrennan" is this more about "viewing" maps or "editing" them? This sounds like you are wanting multiple users to be able to openly edit another users map if that map ownership was set to "public" as an example. Is that accurate?

@"andy.howard" - can you share those support case numbers please?
-
@"stuartd" Great info here - appreciate you sharing these details. 1) Right angle and curved connections: Agree with your statement here. It is not as easy of a task as one might think but we will do our best to get that incorporated for a future release. 2) Simple Migration Utility: We will certainly look into this. I…

@"krc85aggie" - quick question. When you have it displayed in this manner, if something were to happen to one node, the other node shows it is having the same issue correct? Could adding the interfaces to the map and creating multiple connections between the set of objects assist with that?
-
Yep! Make sure to check out the Orion Maps Beta Post in the NPM or SAM beta forums!

EOC 2.0 is available: WHAT IS THE ENTERPRISE OPERATIONS CONSOLE (EOC) & HOW DOES IT WORK? 2.0!!

In the contextual map sub-views, the naming convention currently places an ellipses in the middle of the name for longer names. If you were to open in map editor and and save this map to a widget, it is not using the shortening of the name but displaying the full name. The Map Editor is available as of the 2019.2 Core…

Great request Scott - would there be other filters however? Would you want to see Layer 2 vs Layer 3 as an example? How far do we need to go? Interested to hear what the community thinks.
-
mcbridea - We certainly appreciate your feedback and perspective, however I am going to respectfully disagree. As stated in the blog post included with the latest releases; ORION PLATFORM 2018.2 IMPROVEMENTS - CHAPTER TWO - INTELLIGENT MAPPING - This is the first step in the next generation of Orion mapping. I further go…

Have you checked out the latest Maps Beta in the NPM Beta Forum?

This particular request has had a wealth of amazing feedback. I believe with the latest release of Orion Maps, a massive amount of these asks have been incorporated to the feature. Please take a look at - An Orion Map to Success! Lets get some new Feature Requests out there on what you need to see next.
-
Thank you ecklerwr1. We certainly still have a LONG ways to go to. NTM will still have its place and for now not a part of this project. The Orion Maps feature is built and designed to help visualize the wealth of data that is obtained through each of the Orion Modules. Some of the pain points you are describing you may…

This has been implemented as of EOC 2.0.

Hopefully you can see that the Dev hours spent on the Orion Maps elements are items that can be commonly shared as an initial framework, and steps to an updated and enhanced version of Network Atlas. If you would like to share the case in which you were having issues will tool tips, I can take a look to review what was…

Great feedback @"dunky2k" - following the request! Looking forward to hearing others comments and feedback.

In the latest Orion Map release, you have complete control over how you want status represented. For this specific request, the best route would be to use custom icons or a combination of backgrounds to ensure you have the desired level of brightness on your screen. An Orion Map to Success!
-
Makes sense neoceasar - Would love your feedback on the RC which is now available if you are able to do so. The method in which we roll up status of the environment is quite different in EOC 2.0 and there might be some unique ways in which you could leverage these new features. I can't post anything here yet being that we…

It all depends on what is detected through the topology polling. I have seen in some cases this automatically detected or some users actually need to update a config file. However, I would encourage you to review the latest RC - ORION PLATFORM 2019.4 - ORION MAPS RC (NPM Forum) In the event a connection you are hoping to…
-
derik.pfeffer the likelihood of keeping Atlas around forever is certainly slim. We do not have a definitive date yet, and have some things we need to complete in the Orion Maps project before this is possible so I would certainly encourage you to begin to migrate to using Orion Maps. If there are specific items you loved…

bluegrue If I could "like" this post a million times I would! You have now just set the bar for anyone ever wanting to share feedback again! This info and the detail you shared is perfect! I have a few follow ups for you. In the High Priority section - you mention wanting to show a link that just represents a relationship…
-
For now vinx it is one by one. The other option you have is to build a map through the contextual views which can be a bit faster depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Building maps faster is a big theme for this next release. I would love to hear more of your thoughts on what an auto-generated map means to you.…
-
@"andy.howard" Just gave it a little nudge - glad you are back to a good place!
-
As of the release written in this post, you would now have an Orion Maps widget that can be added to any view or dashboard to display a map created in the Orion Maps Editor. The latest shipping release is actually the following: Orion Platform 2019.4 - Orion Maps is Now Available - which has a host of new features and…

Global reports have been implemented as a part of EOC 2.0. Users are able to create reports from EOC and specify which sites they would like to see data from, or import reports from remote instances as well. **Helpful Hint; having standardized custom properties can be helpful in these scenarios. Reports built using dynamic…
-
@tkercher - this is a great topic to open a discussion about. If i dissect what you are asking for, I am not necessarily sure this is anything specific to Orion Maps or should even be solved through maps. I agree that technically you are seeing a false positive, but why you are seeing this is where I think we need to focus…
-
@"alex.schoneveld" I would recommend making a Feature Request for Heat Maps on a separate thread. In Orion Maps today you can use the Insert Image or Background options to include a Rack or Floor Plan and nest those maps as you discussed above. Please vote on Permissions…

Thanks @"andy.howard" - I have taken a look at the cases and engaged Support Management to push the two open cases in the right direction.
