  • bleearg13, I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to setup Rancid. Would you be willing to send a list of the RegExs that you would like to see in Cirrus? Would anyone else? Please post here if you have some... Thanks! P.S. Compare RegEx's are headed to testing, Won't be long now.
  • Wills, I think we have addressed that issue, I am just waiting for confirmation from the testing group before we release the patch/new build. Would you like to test the patch for us as well? Thanks, Greg
  • SnowJay, That issue has been addressed in the latest build, which is being pushed to the download server right now. (11/17/2005 0830 Central) Please download the new install package and try your downloads then. Thanks, Greg
  • Yup, thats addressed in the upcoming build, due out 11/8/05. Thanks, Greg
  • dforeid - The first thing I would recommend is upgrading your Toolset; we are currently shipping 10.4 and have made major changes to the SwitchPortMapper (see the Workspace Studio version). HTH, Greg
  • Olimpia - can you contact support and submit a packet capture of the SNMP traffic to the device? Also, what happens if you manually start a TFTP config download via CLI on the device? Thanks, Greg
  • Startlog, It looks to me like you are sending the wrong path to the pix... If TFTP-Root is your root folder for the TFTP Server, then no path spec would be neccesary. If there is a designated TFTP server set in the PIX config, change it to have no folder OR use no folder when giving the 'write net' command: Use: "write net…
  • I can answer those for you, but it really sounds like you are asking for more functionality than the Toolset can give you. As I will mention below, our Orion product would probably be a better fit your your requirements. Here is a demo... Is there a limit to the number of gauges I can auto publish to the web? Yes - 31…
  • WifiGod - On Cisco and some other devices, the @ symbol designates a VLAN context to retrieve information from (think bridge MIBs). See: www.ciscointernethome.net/.../fcf014.html Search for '@' HTH, Greg
  • Mithrilhall, We have addressed this issue in the latest build, which should be posted tomorrow morning (11/8/05). Thanks for your feedback! Greg
  •  dmel - There are two places to get the bridging information: RFC1493-MIB:dot1dTpFdbTable and the Q-BRIDGE-MIB:dot1qFdbTable. The 9.2 version of SPM only supports the first, whereas the latest (currently in beta) supports both. You might check what tables you device supports. HTH, Greg
  •  Oqtoe - either the file is missing or corrupted. If the file is missing, you can run a re-install / replair to replace it, otherwise, you will need to find the file (usually in %Program files%\SolarWinds\Engineer's Toolset), delete it, then run a re-install / repair of the Toolset. HTH, Greg
  • Bryan, Excellent suggestion, I will see that it gets into an upcoming release. Thanks, Greg
  • gbrance, There is currently not a way to sort the output on the Config Change Report, but we are working to get that in on one of the upcoming releases. HTH, Greg
  • cvonhassel - We did... That feature is working in the Classic version of the SwitchPortMapper, and it will coming to the Workspace Studio version soon... Right-mouse click the interface, and based on the admin status of the interface, you can admin enable or disable the interface. HTH, Greg
  • fleic0ma, As Bryan says, it is the biggest limitation of the TOOLSET. Have you seen Orion? Orion stores data on SQL server, which does not have the 2GB limit, and is developed and tuned for monitoring larger networks than the toolset. www.solarwinds.net/.../index.htm Thanks, Greg
  • rmmagow - What message are you getting when you contact the server to obtain a license? --Greg
  •  SWRicardo - You can enter =*8 in the units field to multiply the value by eight. HTH, Greg

  • irish - I have seen many SNMPv3 agents for Windows, have you considered any of those? HTH, Greg
  • mgage247 - You are using a pretty old version. We are now at version 10.4. Can you give that a try? HTH, Greg
  • jlhainy - Version 5 should be fine. Can you verify with a sniffer that the NetFlow traffic from the 2600 is making it to the collector? If it isn't, the first thing I would look at would be the ACL on the firewall and the source address of the netflow data (making sure they match). If that did not reveal anything I would…
  • Three answers: 1. Not yet, but it is on the list. 2. Yes, select the text to copy, click the copy link on the bottom of the terminal. Use Ctrl+v to paste. 3. This is a bug, which is on our list to fix... HTH, Greg

  • rgiraud - You need to re-install the Windows SNMP service from the Windows CD. Sounds like it might be corrupt. HTH, Greg
  • After working with Da Haole we were able to determine the issue and come up with a hotfix. If you are experiencing this issue using the Command-line Switch Port Mapper v10.5, please contact technical support and reference this post (TT5694) HTH, Greg
  • Submikester, Are you doing a full inventory? Getting the Cisco Cards information from these devices should not be a problem. How would you feel about getting in touch with support on this? Thanks, Greg
  • Jon, We should be able to handle that situation. Can you get me a trace of the login validation? If so, send it to Josh@Solarwinds.net Thanks, Greg
  • Jon, When logging into this device, do you normally type 'enable' or 'enable 15'? The way the node is setup, it will actually send 'enable 15' for the privileged access attempt. Try setting the enable level in the device properties to the string that you normally type for privileged access. If that doesn't work, give our…
  • Custom menu options can be added to the right click menu on IE when browsing Orion pages... See the XML data located in "<x>:\Program Files\Solarwinds\SWToolset.MenuOptions". The format is fairly easy to understand. HTH, Greg
  • techtips - I am concerned that the version of NPM is showing 9.x, it is as if NPM did not get updated. Can you please verify the file version of Network-Performance-Monitor.exe in the Toolset install folder? If the file version is correct, would you be able to do a a GotoMeeting? --Greg
  • Submikester, Could you contact support @ 918-307-8100 so we can get some more information on your setup? Thanks, Greg
