CMarulan - I am assuming that by traps you mean MIBs. If that is the case, you should be able to uncheck all the traffic stats for the interface, and it should then be able to collect the other stats for the interface. To do this, right mouse click the device in System Manager, and select "List Resources", and then…

Hi hhi - this might make things a little clearer: SolarWinds Fields: * Name = the name of the credential in the Workspace Studio (not passed to the device) * Username = the username as defined in the Cisco "snmp-server user ..." command * Context = the context used in the Cisco "snmp-server group ..." command. In IOS: *…

phatboyfromla - Unfortunately, there is no way to get the date in the titles or footer on the graph. I will get it into a feature request though. Thanks, Greg
-
Bryan, I agree on the fallback, would be a great feature. I will try to get that in one of the upcoming releases. Thanks, Greg
-
All, In order to download the additional components, you must be a licensed Cirrus customer with maintenance. Try this link: support.solarwinds.net/.../Unsupported.cfm HTH, Greg

TKelly - You are correct that SwitchPortMapper (SPM) currently only supports 1 switch at a time. We do however offer a command line interface to automate a switch port map: SwitchPortMapper.exe <layer2deviceIP> <layer2community> <layer3deviceIP> <Layer3community> Unfortunately, there is now way to automate the export of…

Hi Andrew - I have seen this a couple times and have not yet been able to determine the actual application causing the issue, but I can tell you how to work around it. What is happening is a file that the installer is trying to upgrade is in use, but it cannot get the name of the process which actually has it locked. Would…

You are correct Debbi, the progress update was removed when the server was re-written a few years ago. Thanks, Greg
-
d-moore - We tested Orion 8.x and Toolset v10 before release, and no issues were found. I know of only two issues (yours and one other). Have you tried re-running the Config Wizard as suggested in the previous issue? HTH, Greg
-
Bryan, That is a great suggestion! Right now the inventory settings are global to the application, so any inventory that gets run is the same inventory. I agree it would be very useful to have different things collected at different intervals. The message "A full inventory may need to be run" come about when you try to run…
-
All, We have made some modifications to our Inventory Engine which should alleviate the incomplete inventories... It will be in our next release of Cirrus. However, you can obtain a patch by contacting Josh Stephens @ 918-307-8100. HTH, Greg
-
All, Does anyone have a 2811 with the same issue? Would anyone be willing to give us access to it? Thanks, Greg
-
RBrewer, A few things to check: Check the inventory settings [Inventory Menu... Inventory settings...] to make sure that the inventories you want to run are selected. Make sure you have done an inventory before trying to view inventory reports. Make sure you have the correct community string and SNMP access to the devices…

nsblue - The Workspace Studio uses IE under the covers for the Simple Web Gadget. You can turn off script error notification in IE by going to Tools - > Options -> Advanced Tab (in IE) and unchecking the option shown below: HTH, Greg
-
dethrax - the uninstall *should not remove any data files, you should be OK to uninstall and re-install over the top of the same location. HTH, Greg * Always make a backup of the SolarWinds folder, just for insurance.

Hi Kody - I am assuming that your Gig interfaces are trunk ports? There is nothing in the current version (Classic and Workspace Studio versions), unless you wanted to run the command line version (which does not do layer 3 resolution reverse DNS of the found IP addresses yet), and programatically exclude those interfaces…

Yes - the eval and free versions of the Engineer's Toolset restrict export and printing. Thanks, Greg
-
Nando869 - There is no known issue with the Netflow Traffic Analyzer or Configurator. We test the credential to see if it has RW access when starting to confgure the export. Could it be that the credential does not have rights to all mibs? HTH, Greg
-
smthomas23 - you have a couple options... You could use Switch Port Mapper (command line, classic, or Workspace Studio) to collect the MAC addresses attached to any given switch. You could also use IP Network Browser to scan your network, then in discovery menu, select the "Expand and Discover details for all nodes", and…
-
SLXer - Although I don't recommend scanning a class b with IP Network browser, I am curious how it crashed the server? Did it cause a lockup, or make the box unresponsive, or provide some error information? Thanks, Greg
-
smthomas23 - This is an interesting question. What are you using as the criteria for determining Access / Aggregation? Number of ports? Configuration? Certain models you use for each purpose? --Greg

#1 - In the registry: HKey_Current_User\Software\VB and VBA Program settings\SNMPSweep\Community Strings. #2 - We will try all the community strings in the list until one works. HTH, Greg
-
Geoloem - You need to vary the community string for each VLAN to get the MACs for each VLAN out of the Bridge-MIB. So, for VLAN 400, you would need to use the community string <mycommunitystring>@400. When you use just the bare community string, you get the Bridge-MIB for the default VLAN only. HTH, Greg

Jon, Check Settings, Under the Node List Category. There is a slider titled: 'Show only the last X Configs for each node in the Node list' HTH, Greg
-
Hi Ronhw2 - It is currently not possible to run a script in the Workspace Studio SSH (check out Orion NCM for that right now), but it should have that ability in the future. --Greg
-
tearl - Try re-installing or repairing .Net 2.0. That usually fixes that issue. HTH, Greg

Hi Clint - the Bandwidth Gauge is using the 32bit counters, which can only represent 4.3g as the max bandwidth. To use the 64bit counters, when setting up the Gauge, you should see a drop down that says "Use 64 bit counters", select that and you will be good to go. HTH, Greg
-
VTurello - It depends what tool you are using. Most of the Toolset apps have a raw data view... HTH, Greg
-
Andersond - sorry for your frustration. Our applications require that we run with admin level access. We are working on reducing functionality so that we do not, but we are not there yet. You always have the option of disabling UAC. Regarding #2, let's do a GotoMeeting if you have time to get you going. (PM me.) There is…
