Fair question. I would make this type of decision after looking at the new NCM 7 new features (see above and we can talk more off line about these, I sent you an email), and see if you like them and if they bring some value to you now or in a short future.

Thanks for your contribution, on such a sensitive area (IOS crashes). I also wanted to add this to the thread, which hopefully will give the community a deeper view of IP SLA Manager's behavior, always helpful in this type of situation:All Orion operations but path operations (Path Echo and Path Jitter) are created, polled…

Hi Shannon, Re-reading this thread. Isn't what you want to do, basically to customize your own interface speed, vs. using the one discovered automatically? If it is, then you can use the Custom Bandwidth feature, as illustrated below. Looks too simple.. probably missing something :-)

All, We hear you loud and clear. This one is already open (53513) and I'm adding your voices to it. We still have not been able to secure it in our product plan but we are working on it.
-
Tks casperinmd. Do others have compliance issues with lack of HTTPS support when communicating with the UCS? Francois Caron - Snr Product Manager
-
Correct, this option has been removed from 6.1 (it's existence was creating opposite reactions from some users, about security, and was a blocking issue for them to run the product). We have opened an enhancement to have it back, but it's not on the plan yet. Adding your voices to it (50671). I have discussed with a…

The Win32 app has a File / Import Devices menu, that allows you to import devices directly from another NCM (and actually NPM too). No need to export and import a file.

All, Thanks for your fedback, even when it reflect frustration. I'll try to answer all these points. On the multiple database: NCM 7 adopts some core services (e.g. the node management is now consistent with Orion Core's) and also inherits the Core database, even when NCM is standalone. This can be surprising during the…

this is not supported today, as illustrated by the recap tables. This is an open enhancement. Now, if the objective is to visually compare the behavior of these 3 UnDP, you can create 3 separate charts (resources), with one UnDP in each. Workaround, but probably doing the job.

Captured (43845). Keep adding comments, use cases and user experience ideas if you think this is important. Francois Caron - Sr. Product Manager NPM.

Tks Donald. Can't wait to see your report.
-
Interesting suggestion. I'd like to hear others chime-in and express their views about this, either integrated to NCM or separate.
-
Asked Dev and tried with my own 6.1 server and it works. Nothing obvious comes to mind. Please open a support case.

Hi William_Powley, About your question related to "maintenance weekends", have you looked at the NPM "Unmanage Scheduling Utility", which is in the Solarwinds Orion / Advanced Feature?
-
Added all these votes for NPM native support of the F5 BigIP (53363)
-
We are definitely on the same page thamizh85. Tks for the links, looks pretty interesting

Very interesting thread, captured (44237). Others willing to vote for this one?

Hi Shread, We have a new Search function in NCM 6.1, in the NPM integration module, which is different from the "Search Connected Port". This new control can also search keywords within configs. In the next release that we are working on, this control will also be available form the standalone web interface.
-
HTTPS is supported in NPM 10.2.1 as a protocol to talk to the UCS
-
Hi, This is resolved in the upcoming NCM release, for which we have a Release Candidate (RC) available for download.
-
Will add one vote for this feature. Augustocsm, I will also contact you off-line to discuss your requests. Note that the Thwack forum for enhancement requests is the place to submit your requests, ideas and suggestions. http://thwack.com/forums/53/product-feature-requests/57/orion-npm-feature-requests/

Tks Rawk. We will update the doc. Tks for sharing Francois Caron - Sr. Product Manager

The issue is that the CCM - Is a cisco device - And supports the Host Resource MIB that has CPU and Memory, which NPM can work with. So why doesn’t it work? This is because it’s a Cisco device, therefore we expect CPU and memory to come from where they normally come, for Cisco Routers and Switches. But it happens that a…

Hi Karltbraun, Are you looking for MSM 765 support? If yes, can you send me a mibwalk, taken with this procedure: Please download and install net-snmp from http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/You can download the Win32 binaries…
-
No there is not. The best way to know that "this is being activelly worked on", is to look at the NPM post on the "What we Are Workin On" forum here.
-
Hello achrich, Can you elaborate on this request? Are you talking about NCM's "Scheduled Tasks" function? Can you explain what will not fit you enterprise standard shortly. Thank you.
-
Hi Brian_crypto, Point well taken. I will contact you off line.

At some point, the GA 6.1 zip file did contain SQL Express binaries. The installer logic is to use it if it's there, which created this confusing situation. This was not intended and the new zip file does not have the SQL Express binaries. The behavior is now back to normal. Sorry about any inconvenience or confusion.

This conversation continues here, in response to an MSP Multi-tenancy blog post: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/solarwinds-community/product-blog/blog/2012/04/17/orion-multi-tenant-deployments

Hi Bob, Interesting use case. I opened an enhancement request to facilitate usage of Compliance reports on un-reachable devices, so users don't have to use the workaround that you describe above. I would like other NCM users to voice their opinion on how relevant this use case is for them, so we can set the right priority…
