  • Are you saying the Test from within System Manager is timing out? Are you seeing any other problems with these nodes (interfaces going to unknown state for example)? Check to make sure the SNMP version is set correctly in the Node Details.

  • quote:Originally posted by stephen98b Yes GET NEXT does populate the fields correctly - when get next is supported. The problem seems to only occur when trying to get the data from a table, I can get the first value using GET NEXT, but I can not get any values after that. Stephen, I am having trouble reproducing what you…
  • quote:Originally posted by guyti • Found same issue as everyone with the Custom MIB Poller. You can view the GET response upon set up, but it will not write to the table. • Web Page is slow under load 5-10 users. From the two bullets I quote here, it looks like you are still using the version shipped on 12/15/2006. Please…
  • The Nework Performance Monitor service must be stopped when you make manual changes to the DB. Otherwise it will overwrite your changes. Restart the service when you are done and the changes will stick. David Perdue SolarWinds Development Team
  • OK, we have issued a patch that we hope fixes this problem. If anyone continues to experience problems with Custom Poller reporting "No Data" after installing this patch, please let us know. The patch is announced here: Orion 8.0.1--Patch for Custom MIB poller - www4.solarwinds.net/.../topic.asp David Perdue SolarWinds…
  • quote:Originally posted by BryanBecker Not sure if this is related or not but I'm seeing alot of graph gapping with my custom mib polling. I see the custom mibs doing this but the other items it's polling looks fine. Is this related? BB This does sound related. David Perdue SolarWinds Development Team

  • stephen98b, Sounds like you are having a problem that we fixed in 8.0.1 that was released earlier this week. Try upgrading and see if the SNMP Get requests start working correctly for you. David Perdue SolarWinds Development Team

  • We are aware of this problem using SNMP Get with custom MIB pollers. A fix should be available shortly. David Perdue SolarWinds Development Team
  • Also, if the MIB you are looking for is not listed, you can still type in the OID. The only difference is we cannot prefill any information about that OID so you will have to provide the name, description, type, etc. If you have a MIB that is not listed you can email it to support@solarwinds.net and it will get included in…
  • Bryan, I think this is fixed in 8.5.1 released today.

  • With all the add-on services now being started, OSM needs "Stop All Services"/"Start All Services" buttons AND a checkbox on each service to allow the option of selecting which services to Stop/Start at the same time. • Brix, 1) Is it your home view that is loading slowly or all views? 2) Have you customized the slow loading view? If it is a specific view that has been customized, it sounds like one or more of the resources on the view are the problem. Try using the "Detach" option on each resource to see which one is taking a long time…
  • Yes, MSDE does limit you to 2GB database size. You can use the free SQL Server 2005 Express Edition from Microsoft and that ups the limit to 4GB, or you can move your database to a SQL Server. • I already have SP2 and there are still a lot of bugs on this and I would like to know when the ne SP will be released or is this not happening until the new version of Orion comes out? • Having them both receiving and processing the data at the same time would lead to duplicate data as well as possible other problems. For redundancy you can configure this way but have the netflow and traps services stopped on the poller. Then you can start them if the other poller goes down.
  • If you cancel the config wizard and then run it again does the same error occur? Also, please send me a private message and attach the file ConfigurationWizard.log from the \program files\solarwinds\orion directory.
  • GetNext will walk the tree and find the next valid OID. The test should tell you the OID of the value it is returning.
  • Two things: 1) If you do direct DB changes you need to make sure the Network Performance Monitor servise is stopped. Otherwise your changes will get overwritten. Restart the service after making your changes. 2) You can change the polling frequency for all nodes/interfaces by clicking the Settings button on the System…
  • Is there anyway to just backup the config portion of Orion? We don't want to backup all collected statistics as our DB is over 300GB now. Basically just enough to be able to import nodes quickly if the unspeakable happened. Thanks. Most of the statistics are stored in tables with names ending in _details, _hourly, and…
