Currently, your proposed solution approach is your best option right now. We have multi-level grouping on our roadmap and we hope to get this into the next release.

Can you try disabling the toolset TFTP service? The issue is likely that both TFTP servers are trying to run at the same time and on the same default port.
-
The 1000 nodes should be automatically set to the "Imported" Node Group. You should be able to group node list by Node Group and then select this group and delete all nodes.
-
You would have to set the specific date to 1 year from today and set this on a periodic basis. I think the ability to set the config purge to a relative timeframe is a definitely something for us to consider. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #4145 If there are others who are interested, please chime in to help…

To do what you're talking about would require a fair amount of custom scripting. See the documentation for how to write custom scripts in CatTools. As an aside, we're currently working on an Advanced Scripting framework that will make these types of use-cases much easier to implement. It will be initially released as part…

Thanks for the post. I've captured this one previously as noted below. Please let me know if the proposed solution would meet your needs as well. Thanks! Problem: Customer would like to see feature added for the Download Config Job. Customer states when he selects the option to send a notification if the downloaded Config…

Hi khizarkhan, thanks for your post. There currently isn't a way to modify this text, but this is already on our roadmap. I'll add your request to the original to help us prioritize. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #1835

This is not possible today, but this is a good idea. I'll create a feature request. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #4521 For others watching, if there are specific features in the Win32 that you'd like to see in the web console, please chime in!
-
Please see this post for details on how we plan to improve this moving forward.

We expect to add SNMPv3 support in 1H09, but as always, priorities and timeframes can change based on demand from our customer base. If there are others with SNMP v3 support requirements, please chime in!

We are looking at adding automatic notifications in-product. For now, you'd want to subscribe to the Announcements area of the forum and we'll be sure to advertise new Kiwi releases there. Nexus support is also something we've been exploring. I believe we have some example scripts that you can try. You'll need to open a…

The inventory report should match the security settings configured in the desktop application. If you want to change this, go to File > Settings > Security and set username and passwords to be hidden. Usernames and password are encrypted in the NCM database by default.

Yes, it works fine on XP. In fact, we allow evaluations on XP, but we just don't claim official support because of the limitations of IIS on XP.
-
It's something that we're looking at for a future release, but we're looking for more demand from customers to help us prioritize. If there are others interested in flexible NetFlow, please chime in. For internal folks, we're tracking this as #3164

From our ipMonitor guru's Matt and Peter in dev: When any dependency is ‘down’ ipMonitor will record failures, but those failures will not count towards its alerting (and remedial actions). In this example, while the dependency was down, ipMonitor correctly suppressed alerts while it continued to collect monitoring…

Within the Admin guide (see chapter 5), there are instructions for how to create custom device templates to support new devices. www.solarwinds.net/.../OrionNCMAdministratorGuide.pdf

1) Is it possible to create a working hours report for a week? Excellent question. There isn't any easy way to do this today, but this is absolutely a high priority enhancement for the next release targeted for 2H08. There is a workaround - see suggestion offered in #2 below. 2) The only way I can think to do it would…

Does this happen for all new inventory jobs that you schedule or just that one?

Thanks for the feedback!

We frequently share Netflow analysis output with other network teams. It would be great if there were an option to print or export that data directly to a .pdf file, as opposed to capturing the page with something like Snagit. The data's great, sharing it can be a bit of a problem. Can this functionality be added to a…

We use the IP address as the key for matching and merging attributes. If this changes in NPM, there is currently no way for NCM to know about this. More integrated node management is planned for a future release.
-
I agree. I can definitely see the benefits on the security side of knowing that traffic related to a specific application/virus has been detected and alerting on this. This is something we're looking at although it's not going to make the release we're currently working on. For the performance side of things, how would you…

Just to confirm, you put it in the "<install dir>:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes" folder
-
Can you try disabling node monitoring to see if this resolves the issue?
-
I must be dense, because it didn't say it all for me ;-) Did you mean for grouping devices in the All Nodes resource? Or do you want the ability to see custom properties in Node Details?
-
It seems like you've take all the appropriate steps. I think your best bet is to open a support ticket on this one.
-
The 24 month renewal option is still available, but just not available from the online store. Please open a ticket with customer service and they can take care of this for you.
-
Thanks for the feature request. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #4099

Try using: ${Hostname} Syslog uses a different set of variables (see Other Syslog Variables section in Admin guide).
-
Not currently, but that's something we have on our roadmap. Currently, the only way to exclude a device from the chart results is to set a device as "unmanaged".
