If you go to Settings\Manage Nodes, and search by IP address, do you get any replies?

You can enable debugging, File\Enable capture mode, and this will show you verbose communication, and the device may need to be edited.

I would go into Setting\All Settings and then SAM Settings. Next go to Manage Templates, and search for Azure. This will allow to edit the application monitors, and see what each component does.

An easy way would be to use the Component Monitor Wizard: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/SAM/Content/SAM-Use-the-Component-Monitor-Wizard-in-SAM.htm You can select the Print services specific performance counters . You can also monitor the Print Server Spooler service.

You can try a SAM File Existence Monitor. You can put a test file in the directory and monitor that file.

Have you tried using node custom properties?
-
If you go into the Windows Performance Monitor on the Orion system, and connect to the system where the IIS monitor has been applied, do you see the counters under Inter Information Services Global.

Please see this link: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/SAM/Content/SAM-Asset-Inventory-and-Hardware-Health-Monitoring-Requirements.htm

You can apply any of the AD Application monitors (other that Appinsight for AD) to a node and them delete components from that monitor.
-
Are you able to get an Application ID?
-
