Can you backup a running config on a cisco switch without write access?. If you dont have privilage 15 on the switch you just get blank config backups.
This post says that it works but I have not been able to get it to work.

Can you enter enable mode, and do a show run with the account that you are using in CatTools?
Yes I can enter as enable mode and that is how I have set it up. When you enter as enable mode you then have full privilages with that account to run the show running config. This also gives you full write access. I tried to put a lower privilage access on the Cisco users account like (10) but then you just get emtpty configs backup because you dont have the required access to do a full show running config.
Is there a config that you can set on the Cisco devices that allows you to backup the full running config but not allow write access to change the configs on the device?
