Yes, the Map Maker is actaully designed to do this. You create multiple maps, each with more details than the previous. Yes, you could use Report Writer for this, or you can create a custom home page with only the node CPU & Memory displayed (depending on how many nodes you have, this could become a very large and cunmbersome page to navigate). Your CPU's are 1Ghz faster than my DL380, but your RAM is much lower. If you are running the DB on this server as well, then I suggest upping the RAM to at least 2Gb.
