Thanks for the reply. what I mean by "I don't like the join" is that I was expecting/wanting to find NodeID in the Orion.ContainerMembers table to JOIN on rather than the fullname (I like joining on IDs (a key) rather than , for all I know, a Text field. Yeah I saw that I would need to "run up the tree", luckily , at the…

They did, I'll collect it up and post some thoughts.

I have installed NPM 11.5.2 in our lab and there was no option on SQL install like in previous versions. To me it's a requirement and not recommendation.

Thanks for the info! It'll be a great help!

Thanks for the feedback. Which databases have you ended up deleting entries from? My large ones are APM_ProcessEvidence_Hourly and APM_ProcessEvidence_Daily. Or did you also touch APM_ComponentDetails_Hourly and so on because of dependencies? Best regards, Andreas

I would also like to see this added. Can my name be added to the feature request list? Thanks Chris

I have found the Riverbed Template you guys have been discussing in the downloads area. I have downloaded it and saved it to what I though was the right place...granted I have not read the admin guide about the templates...in the device types subfolder without the file extension, like the others. When I am in Cirrus and I…

lchance, I don't have enough info to be useful. This is a case where contacting Support would be helpful.

Using the LEM agent on the system, which runs as SYSTEM. On a DC that means we can do domain-level operations, on the local system, it means we can do system-level operations.

I've done some more digging and found that it actually isn't the NetPerfMonService.exe service that is causing the issues. When I turn off the "SolarWinds Orion Job Scheduler" service the NetPerfMonService.exe returns to acceptable CPU levels. Does anyone have any idea why this service could be causing the CPU spike I'm…

It's not that we can't do it, but we don't yet. I've captured it as a feature request.

Do you have APM?

I have a responsibility for a large health care network and I am using the IP Address Management tool to help all techs with identifying where and how the addressess and subnets are managed across the enteprise. My enterprise has approx 1700 subnets. The first time I used the IP Address Management tool the list of…

Sure. Install NPM. Then you install APM on top of it on the same server.

OK guys, so how are we getting on with the new CPE now in the later versions? i have just upgraded, and it looks like not all the promises of the new version have been implemented... i have started a new thread about this, but l;ooks like granular quaries are not possible, i.e. the ability to add conditions to the CPE to…

I'll have to see if I can exclude Cattools from the Forefront client security we are using, otherwise all the ports are opened on the Firewall. Since the 3rd of October, Cattools has been catching the changes. The main issue I have is that I get reports indicating changes to only one of two replicated devices. I like…

That hangs the application and I have to force it closed. If you execute as a script you can watch it take up to the prompt timeout to move to the next line.

I think that I cannot insert a non snmp object. This is incorrect. Network Sonar will find objects that are ping-only.

Don't suppose you found a fix for this?

We do support Forefront AV (Endpoint Security) via either the MOM (SCOM, or equivalent current Microsoft term) database OR the event log (event log would require an agent on each system, database would be centralized - basically MOM pulls from the event log and pushes to the database). The DB tool is "Forefront Security…

Have you tried Nagios Exchange? APM 2.0 has a script ( in the built-in script directory..check your Start Menu) that will run a Nagios script and convert its output to an APM compatible format.

Hmm, that's interesting, and a good lead. Any chance you can send the agent log (should be in windows\system32 or syswow64\contegospop\spoplog.txt or agent.log) and a sample IIS log that has both types of lines in it so we can validate and possibly fix? You can post here if the data is relatively clean, start a…

When we add node management to the web console, we plan to allow users to update custom properties for the node at the same time.

For starters: * Accelerate Resource, View, Chart, and Graph Creation * Shorten ‘resource default time period’ to 15 mintues in Global Settings » By default, resources in previous versions of Orion NTA displayed data for the last 2 hours, and this default was not configurable. Now you can set the default resource data…

Also, please note the server in question is 172.16.0.21. Not sure why we're getting the "check username/password" errors for drbak30, that's the one I thought was working :/

To bring this back- We have a few servers in production running 2003 x64 Enterprise with SQL 2005 x64 Enterprise...one in particular is loaded with 16GB of RAM. Now, I don't know enough about memory allocation and SQL server etc as I would like but still, something doesn't seem right here. We had a "process" that would…
