Thought you might have been onto something since I had not tried this option. But when I did it didn't work. I can open the web page using the DirectLink option but it didn't work within the Advanced Alerts. Keep 'em coming....

At this point, you'll need to open a Support ticket. Please reference this Thwack thread.

The current plan is this quarter, but plans are just plans, and I make no promises.

That's what I get for writing up stuff on Friday afternoon. It's actually "basic *and* advanced". I've edited the initial post as well.

your alert is over complicated due to the multiple percentages. if the volume is 99% it would still trigger on the over 90 with out the need for the second(95) or third part(98). there will only be one action set for the one alert. just set it to trigger on over 90 and then have it repeat through escallation on a time…

I think it's something in the way our local DNS resolves, because I am not, in fact, able to do a successful reverse lookup through an nslookup on the Orion server. So I guess that would be the issue: NTA pulls the endpoint IP address from the Netflow records, then looks to whatever DNS the local machine is using, but…

You may be better off opening a ticket so that we can collect more data from your system.

Yes, waiting on SP2 would be a good idea.
-
PS: I un-marked your answer as correct if you want to pick a new one

I would love a case opened for the original alert page issue. If you could post pictures of what you see and indicate how you want to change it, that would be very valuable. Reference this thread. I want to get this fixed for you.

Ok, i logged in and could not find it, then i looked at my version and it is 9.5 SP4 Anything else I can do, regarding what I want to accomplish? Thank you

It WORKED!!! Thank you all!!!!

I was all excited for a minute. I just installed the update and hotfix hoping this would fix my issue with Dell switches. It does not. I'm still only seeing mac addresses for vlan 1 (which we don't even use) on all of my dell switches.

Quickly, no. 15 or so of the nodes you could call 'internal' - the rest are all customers that require sign off on changes; on the order of 200+.

njoylif, I took a stab using your report as the model and created a used/unused ports by (Cisco) ethernet port name. It works to a certain extent...it runs. I call that a success. Unfortunately, it only returns results if all 3 type ethernet ports (FastEthernet, Gigibit, TenGigibit) are present for a given switch. Since we…

Thanks njoylif. I really appreciate your offer to help. I was thinking rather than start another post for the additional report, what I’m looking for is a slight variation of report you have already provided. I’m looking for a report that provides the same used/unused port stats but broken down into used/unused ports…

What we have found when people run on SANs is that they tend to run with a very low disk write capacity. Orion writes a lot of data to disk, and with that configuraiton, they get poor performance, and there's not much we can do to help. So it's possible to run on a SAN, provided that the SAN is configured appropriately. We…

Never mind.... IT overload! I can't tell you HOW many times I have looked at this and tried all of the suggestions and then when I am typing up my reply to you I saw i missed a crucial step. I did it and it works now. Thanks for the reply and getting me on track.

1. I think the new mapping application will do what you're looking for . 2. I'll seriously consider that one for a future release.
-
I just wanted to add to this post real quick since I ran into the same issue. Apparently Orion doesn't like any of the special character keys. In my case I had a @ sign in the password.
-
Yes. That's a known request.
-
If you've created a new view, you'll need to set that view as your home page.
-
Can you assist with upgrading my web? I really need custom pollers viewable from there. That's all I'm looking for is the web console. Your recommendation is noted. Torrie, The additional web server is a licensed component. It's not part of the standard Orion. Your account does not have a license for it. That's probably…

SQL CE is an embedded SQL that we use for storing temporary data. Without it, Orion won't run. We try to expose as much info as possible without providing so much that it all becomes useless. And if we listed all of the embedded 3rd-party controls and various DLLs, it would be a very long and probably useless list. That's…

Hello It passed from that for one year and a half. Did webconsole have a "alert manager" function? Regards
-
I think it's feasible, but it's not going to happen in the next version. That's about all I can say with confidence.

Hi Ian, This is common with virtualised environments and is due to the hardware clock skewing, resulting in the time drift. The guest VM relies on the timer ticks value being consistent, but this varies with CPU power saving technologies in today's systems, causing the number of cycles to vary. Do ensure the host server is…

Development of this tool is still underway and it's official launch is mid-January. Look for the demo video fix then. It's end of January. Any update on the launch and demo?

That process monitor uses SNMP. You need ports 161 and 162 open.

We still have IIS hang issues after a couple DLL updates but things are significantly improved over the 3-4 restarts per day previously. I've been sending in log dumps after the crashes, hopefully support is getting somewhere with the data.
