  • With SP1 out how are issues with going to V9? Do people still have major issues with V9 or has SP1 fixed those? I'm still conteplating upgrading. Thanks. BB
  • I just loaded 9.1 on my test server and added a ESX server but it's not seeing any of the VM hosts on it. The Device View is correct (ESX Server View) but all I see is the normal node detail stuff. Not sure what I'm missing. BB
  • Solarwinds....any updates on Avaya support in VoIP Monitor in 2008??? Something more than custom mib work in this case. BB

  • Ok I have the full 3.1 but what about us customers who have pollers running NTA and web server that does not? Is there a service-only and web-only install available or do you just run this install on both and tell the web server to to install the service? BB
  • There are no ACLs on the WAN links where you're letting snmp in over the primary but not the backup? Can you right-click on the node and do a 'List Resources'? BB
  • Denny...fyi I went from 9.0 to 9.1 last night and so far so good. I took me about 2 hours because of all the pollers we have and stopping/restarting services. I hope in a future release that the upgrade process for multiple servers is much easier. I do notice an improvement in web site loading which is great. I have opened…
  • Mark, I too have a large value in the trapvarbinds...mine is 1380954...but the actual table size is only 142MB. My DB is about 120GB now. So I guess I need to do this as well?? I'm good up to the part of running the maintenance, compact and repair. Where are those 3 options located for me to run? Any expectation on down…
  • I think we have identified the issue...fixing it I'm not sure. It seems that after I removed the custom mib gauges/charts for node details the node details paged loads in like 3-5 seconds. I'm not sure of the conflict from custom mib poller to UnDP but something isn't right. I sent support the files so hopefully something…
  • I don't wait too long. I'll give it about 1 minute and if it doesn't work I'll go into task manager, find the service name, and stop the process. BB
  • Another question. I noticed the built-in TFTP server in V4 doesn't run as a service. The verson with Cirrus V4 is 8.2.18. Do we have to download a different version of TFTP that runs as a service? BB
  • I did the repair and I'm working. What I need to know is by doing the repair am I still on SP2 or will I still need to run that? I'm going to Orion V9 in about 2 weeks. Either way I have to get SP2 so I can get to V9. BB
  • I checked the Orion server and the service is running and the time stamp is up to date. I'll open a ticket on EOC.
  • The ability to view Cirrus Configs and Reports from the Orion website currently works as long as the Orion server has a mapped drive to the Cirrus server and vice versa. The integration pulls the configs that are saved using the Config Archive feature and reports that are exported as html. Ok...this will require some…
  • Interesting...this may be the problem. The alert is just to send an email...but this poller is in the internal network and can email out without issues. This is the same poller getting the errors. I do have pollers in areas that may not have the smtp...I have to investigate that. BB
  • Yeah....looks like pings are fine even at 5-min granularity. The snmp graphs at 5 minutes is horrible looking. BTW...what's the specs of your DB server? I'm not sure if this is hurting any but Orion repoerts the physical memory on my server is 97% utilitize (3.8GB RAM). CPU % is about 30-70% utilized. I will say that I…
  • NG....I'm in the same boat as you. We have 2 pollers and the main SQL server in our mid west data center (A Pollers). I have 2 remote pollers in my DR data center (B pollers) on the east coast. The data centers are connected via P2P connections with a latency of 35ms. My graphs for the B pollers is horrible. Most of the 24…
  • My issue is now I'm not 100% sure how often the tests are done...I assumed it was every 5 minutes...but now it appears it's not that way. Do you know of any documentation that tells you the frequency, # of packets, size etc per codec? I just want o be sure that when we are asked how often are the tests running on the…
  • Is there any way you can post an install without the SQL Express install? I would assume most companies are running this on SQL Enterprise already. BB
  • Sweet....those are actually 3 locations I don't mind going too. BB
  •  I'm going to open a ticket on this today. BB
  • Bryan, Did you get this resolved from your support ticket? We are running NPM v10.1.2 and EOC 1.3 RC5. We are looking at converting our Orions over to Active directory but are wondering how that will impact EOC connectivity. Can you provide any best practices for doing this? Thanks! Robert Yes. With the latest Orion and…
  • In the NTA setup under a router I want to report on....if all I care about is data ont he WAN interface do I need to check the LAN interfaces as well. So in this pic can I just check the POS WAN interface? BB
  • Yep...I have NetFlow on my 4 pollers. BB
  • 70 or 80 seconds - wow, we aren't in the same ballpark. When I said ours were slower, I estimate that typically the node details screen took 2-3 seconds under 8.5.1, and 5-6 seconds under 9.0 (but I can't back the old numbers up with hard data). Any of the other screens (i.e. interfaces) seem to be unchanged in performance…
  • Great news. We also are looking at our DB server and its performance. I think our server is too small for what we are doing now and are looking to upgrade its RAM from 4GB to 8 or maybe 16GB. Do you have any specs on minimum size/configuration based on elemets? And also based on elem, ents plus if you have add-ons like…
  • Not with what you describe. This port (17777) is only needed between Orion servers. In my case I have 4 poller servers and 1 NPM server (running the web site, etc.). So in my firewall I have port 17777 opened up in both directions between each poller and the NPM server. Now...if your orion server needs to communicate thru…
  •  Ok...did what you said and it looks like it took but I still have alot of "unmonitored" ports. I did noticed in the SQL query that some ports did not have the enable checkbox checked. BB
  • I too have really given up on fixing these gaps. We have 4 remote pollers with 2 of them in a different DC using a very good WAN to get back to the DB. The response time is less then 40ms. The devices on those 2 pollers have really bad gaps. I have 5 min polling and the 10 min graphs look bad and the 5 min graphs are much…
  • I wanted to reopen this discussion. I'm still have the same issue on my EOC V1.2 SP1. Attached screenshot. I am able to get to this site in IE for the EOC server. Support said in their response that this was in a test track 13674 back in October. BB
