  • I've upgraded to SP2 and this is what I see : All Nodes - Tree on the main page - load is ~32 seconds All Nodes - Tree not on the main page - load is ~6 seconds I have added a custom menu bar just for all nodes and when I click on that it takes ~10 seconds to load all the nodes. We have ~1800 nodes. BB
  • has anyone solved this problem? i still have 1 device that all of the sudden started doing this via SSH. Nope. Same crap every day. I did get an email from support on Tuesday : "They were able to reproduce this in lab and are working on the solution at this time. Tomorrow morning is when the Cirrus update meeting will be…
  • Brandon, Speaking for myself...I think this has been long enough time to have Nexus support OOTB with NPM. I posted this thread over 2 years ago. Simple things like CPU and Memory should be available by now (not useing a UnDP) since the Nexus is Cisco's flagship DC switch and more customers are going to it. We have over 30…
  • Where can I find that polling completion value? I don't see that under the polling engines link. BB
  • Ok...so you don't test it. But again....logically the latency theory is bogus to me. I can see if your latency is like 60-100ms but not in our case. So you saying you have tried it somehow and it didn't work....so what did support/dev say the issue was? My traces show what NG is seeing.....basically not a 5 minute interval…
  • I haven't loaded SP3 yet but my dllhost.exe is really consuming alot of memory. I'll open a ticket today. BB
  • I just upgraded to V9 and I'm seeing something different. What I mean is from my interface charts that most of them have bold blue/green lines. My percent utilization chart uses what I would say is non-bolded lines. Here is what I mean. I would think the top graph lines would be the same like the bottom graph.
  • Sounds about right. When we had NetQOS we had to do the same thing. I am interested in Cisco's Egress Netflow support in 12.3T. From what I read this may make things easier. Have you had any experience with running this or know of customers that do? BB
  • We had already been waiting for a new release for a year + so why rush to release a product and then have major releases within 2 months. I don't understand. Was anyone here forced to upgrade? If you upgraded thinking that the product was rushed, then why did you upgrade? The bottom line is, if you can't afford to have…
  • Thanks Denny....I too am stuck with basic alerts with snmp traps until this is fixed. Any way to get this out in the next release would be greatly appreciated. BB
  • I'm having a goto meeting with support today but what "tuning" do you suggest? Like I said I have a 4*Dual-Core AMD Opteron DB server with 24GB RAM. I'd assume that you have alot of support tickets on these gapping problems and have a consensus on some tuning practices to help alleviate the issue. BB
  • I deleted all the *.tmp I can and I still can't get the URL. No...I am not behind a proxy and I can get to the .JPG from the x64 IE browser. How does Atlas get this file...if it uses the x32 settings some how it won't work, only calls using the x64 IE will work. BB
  • In my case....I just talked to support and the 1st thing we looked at was the DB size. Ours was 140Gb with only 7GB used for data. A ton of white space was left for our old NetFlow implementation. We removed that and will run a shrink tonight and get the DB down to ~10GB and see if perfromnce changes. I hope so. I'll post…
  • Can you share that with us or PM me? I have a 2nd NetFlow tool we use. I wanted to scrap it for Orion NTA but honestly I'm not too to happy with NTA. We bought it hoping we could replace this tool and it can't at this point. BB
  • Chris....I have a Cisco (Altiga) 3030 and tried this. The first issue is if I select the template as Cisco 3005....and try to do the validate login I get a error saying it can't find the template. So I changed it to Auto Determine. That work. Now when I do a download config I get a connectivity issues discarding config…
  • You are right on the money, We saw the same gaps in charts, I opened a ticket "Case # 25033 Created: I have gaps in most all of my charts!" In November 07. Worked on it for two weeks, with tech support - got nowhere. Closed Case, shut down Netflow - problem better (not fixed) and ordered a new Orion server (Problem…
  • I went thru my email and do seem to have a "workaround" email. Can you email that to me or post it on here and I'll give it a try? BB
  • We've been using NetFlow to monitor these queue's and provide trend data per-queue. This provides a great amount of detail around not only how much per queue but also exactly which flows are tagged and placed in which queues. -DW How exactly are you doing this? BB
  • The keys for me was that the DB server be on the same LAN as the pollers with latency with less than 5 ms. We tried running it over a wan with latency of 40ms and it was gapping pretty badly. Since it looks like latency is good my only suggestion is either turn back the polling even more (ie back to 10 minutes) or buy a…
  • Should I upgrade SP2 before or after I go to V9? BB
  • Bump.
  • I'm having a similar issue (another thread) but I don't think this is a disk issue. When running 8.5.1 getting a node details page to load was like 5 seconds. Now it's like 70-80 seconds. That's a huge difference. And in my case it's just nodes....interfaces are quick to load. The only other "slow" piece I have is the web…
  • I tried Node.Vendor = 'net-snmp%' and that didn't work. I also tried this filte : (Node.Vendor = 'Cisco' OR Node.Vendor = 'Juniper*' OR Node.Vendor = 'NetScaler' OR Node.Vendor = 'Riverbed Technology' OR Node.Vendor = 'Emerson Computer Power' OR Node.Vendor = 'Cyclades Corporation') And it work for Global Node Status. If I…
  • Assuming that your router is sending data to your collector for all the involved interfaces, you would have to select all the interfaces if you want both sides of the traffic on the WAN interface. Our collector will drop NetFlow PDUs where the inbound interface is not monitored. If I understand correctly, your goal here is…
  • The support engineer on my case just called me and had me try something. Before the upgrade to 3.1 I only had the serial interface on my router added to NTA. That's all I cared about. He suggested me adding the other interfaces to NTA as well. Since I've dont this I'm now seeing TCP and everything as expected. What I find…
  • Update...I tried changing the Device View around but nothing helps. Now if I go an edit the ESX view and click preview then I see the VM details, nodes, etc. But if I select submit and go back to the main page and look at the VM server all the VM details are missing and I get a standard node view. BB
  • Ok...just a suggestion....since TFTP is included that that version should be the same as the toolset/free version. BB
  • Yeah...outside a SP we haven't heard what's going on with this add-on. I think it's critical, and helps better position SW for more customers, to change the product to a full IP SLA tool...not just VoIP related. We are in dire need for a tool to do simple ping tests over WAN links to look at changes in latency. BB
  •  FWIW, we don't recommend this kind of configuration. A few people get it to work, but the latency inevitably causes the kind of issues you are seeing. We do appreciate the problem, and we are working on a solution that would allow to place an appropriately-sized Orion on either size of the WAN link with the ability to…
  • Already sent that in..Case 32766. BB
