Create a template, add that monitor, assign to node. Voila! Settings > APM Settings > Create a new template. This link should get you started!
-
Just an FYI for the rest - There is a Hardware Health Troubleshooting section in the SAM Admin Guide. Here is one page to get you started.

We have a File Age Monitor. Perhaps that's what's needed in your case. The docs on this can be found here. You should be able to find this from the web UI by navigating thusly: Settings > APM Settings > Component Monitor Library > File Age monitor. Let us know if this helps. :-)

The answer is, yes. The document for the link above I posted earlier will be updated tomorrow with the following information. This should help you for now: Group Variables The following group variables are valid for use in Network Atlas tooltips. Variable Description ${ContainerID} Designated identifier for a mapped group…

Finally, the Release Notes (and SAM) are available!! Check out all the cool new features.
-
Yes, the new version of APM will be called SAM, v5.0. That is one of the many new features SAM employs.

When you click Poll Now, this reschedules a job to run "now" in the job scheduler, meaning, if the job scheduler is already full, the job may not execute immediately, but it will execute sooner than the next scheduled poll cycle.Depending upon how many components are in a given template, and the type of component monitors…

The Admin Guide has been updated to reflect this and will be available at the time of the next release of SAM.

I've spoken to the development team about this and they will be sending me an internal document on this matter. I should have an answer for you tomorrow. Sorry for the delay. Hang in there!

I'm using Chrome v23 and have not seen that behavior. I'm replying with Chrome right now without an issue.

Sorry, I was mistaken, HERE's the page I was looking for: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/sam/default.htm#OrionAPMAGConversionValue.htm This might clear things up. For a script monitor, you can enter the formula I mentioned earlier so the output can be truncated to 2 decimal places. Hope this is what…

Can you tell me exactly where you got the following text from? I cannot find it in my templates. Specifies the TCP port for which this listener is created. WinRM 1.1 and earlier: The default HTTP port is 80. WinRM 2.0: The default HTTP port is 5985. Thanks

Kev, You may need APM to get what you're looking for. I've created a SQL query (through APM) that shows the historical CPU usage for this year. Let me know if this is a good starting point for you. I'm sure you'll need to tweak this a little. SELECT TOP 10000 CONVERT(DateTime, '01/01/' + LTRIM(YEAR(DateTime)), 101) AS…

An FYI - one of the footnotes in the Hardware Health Section of the Admin Guide: Dell does not make array and hard disk health information visible from WMI managed nodes. To monitor storage health on Dell servers, use SNMP. Hardware monitoring has been tested on Dell's OpenManage firmware versions 6.2.0, 6.3.0, 6.5.0,…

Here are a few examples from the Admin Guide that may help.

In the top right corner there is a DELETE button with a red X. Try that. Also note that you can DISABLE it with the DISABLE button 2 buttons to the left of the DELETE button.

You are correct, sort of. The step you think is missing is the one where you need to set a trigger condition. However, this particular alert is predefined. You can observe that the trigger condition is already set by clicking on the Trigger Condition tab in the Alert Manager. The links below will get you out of the woods…

Dward, this variable was pointed out in the SAM Admin Guide. (Granted, the book is large and the mention is small).
-
Nope, been there the whole time. Although the Admin guide is a li'l on the huge side - easy to miss.
