HTTP Monitor Error: Server Committed a Protocol Violation

I'm trying to create a component monitor that hits a URL which in turn displays a PDF report. I've installed Adobe Reader on our Orion polling server and verified that the link works from the server. I've configured the monitor as follows and I'm receiving this error, "server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine". Any ideas what might be causing this?

The HTTP User Experience Monitor in SAM does not support 3rd party plugins like Adobe Flash or Acrobat Reader. It's very possible that only a real web browser will work in this case; and for that I would recommend giving Web Performance Monitor a try.

Thanks. Thats good to know. Is Web Performance Monitor the replacement for Synthetic End User Monitor (SEUM)?

That is correct. With the 2.0 release, Synthetic End User Monitor was renamed Web Performance Monitor.

Is there a solution for those of us who don't have $1995 to drop on yet another SW product?

You could invoke Internet Explorer through a PowerShell script like we've done for the Exchange 2010 OWA Form Login (PowerShell) template.
