Node serial numbers

Do you only need it for network devices or also servers? Are all devices in NCM or is Hardware monitoring enabled on all devices?

Unfortunately we only have limited CISCO devices and predominantly use HUAWEI.

What we use is the Universal Device Poller (Which should be on the main server) and use SNMP to retrieve the serial number, then what you can do is export that information and then import it in to a custom property field called Serial Number. Looking on the Huawei forums looks like the OID you need is 1.3.6.1.2.1.47.1.1.1.1.11.  You can test this by going to the node page and under management there will be a MIB Browser:

You run a repeated inventory on all devices -> NCM Menu -> Jobs -> Check if nightly inventory is scheduled

Then you can use donrobert5 's Link to generate the NCM Inventory Report for Serial Numbers

Edit. Scratch that, just saw your Post that you only have HUAWEI Devices. In this case LeBeauUK 's approach makes more sense. 

So, either NPM or NCM might be able to give it to you.  You might need to either download or create a custom poller for your devices.   You can find quite a few in the Content Exchange here on Thwack under Custom Pollers I think?   You can change what poller a device uses either under "List Resources" , in Node Details, or by going to the main Settings page under "Manage Pollers" where you can do it en-masse.   Before I put one in for our Arista switches, I wasn't seeing their full info.  Once you have it there you can theoretically enable it to auto-assign it when running a network discovery and such.
