Hello,
We currently have Orion NPM and NCM running concurrently on the same server. A colleague who has recently left set this up and I've been tasked with managing it now so still finding my way round. The problem is that NCM keeps using 100% of the CPU which in turn, prevents NPM running. The only way I can get it working again is by killing of the ConfigAutoDownload.exe and ConfigMgmtJob.exe processes. I've updated the NCM version to v5.1 as I read it was a known bug but this has not resolved the issue.
We're monitoring around 600 nodes with a nightly config backup and weekly inventory running only. Additionally realtime config changes are updated. Nothing else is scheduled, yet every day the system seems to generate a number of syslog jobs at varied times of the day. I can find where these jobs are initiated from, each one is a config backup of a device.
The server is has a 2.66GHz Xeon CPU with 2GB of RAM (about to make this 4GB)
Running server 2003 R2 SP1
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
