Autosys trap Alert is being appended to the same SolarWinds Alert log
I am trying to get Autosys trap Alerts to poll a single alert for each alert on the SolarWinds alert console
adatole, Could you help with this question? This is my former coworker. He needs help with an alert idea he is trying to implement.
I'm pretty sure this is do-able, but I need some more details:
1) when you say "autosys trap alert" can you tell me specifically what this is:
1a) the device you are monitoring
1b) whether this is an alert based on values you are polling
1c) or based on a trap message you are receiving
2) what the element or trap specifically is from 1b/1c above
3) what the alert action is. It sounds like it's writing to a file somewhere, but please clarify
4) how you want it to work - when 3 alerts trigger, what is the result you'd like to see?

To help out here is what they are trying too accomplish.
1. Based on a trap message received. So in other words. Autosys is a software the company runs. And it's sending solarwinds trap messages. The messages are than being put into an alert and when the message is sent it also triggers the alert. Basically with this concept they are trying to fine tune the alerting based on the trap messages to provide additional information based off of certain trap variables like a job name for example.
2. It's based off a trap message. They are trying to get certain values from that trap to use to customize alerting better than it is to provide additional information. So for example a variable being *Job name* they want to take this variable and use it to display different alerts based on the different variable values.
3. It writes a event log but I believe it also sends an email with the trap information.
4. For example if Job name is 1 they want an alert. If job name is 2 but 1 is active they want a separate alert.
