We have a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 server that is a domain controller and is missing this WMI counter class. I've tried all (or at least most) of the the suggestions to rebuild the counters, et al, in order to get the class to show and so far have not had any luck. Does anyone out there have similar experience with this…
I am trying to find out why my component pages/sec is showing a "status:unknown" is there a way for me to specify a status or is that system generated? if it is system generated why is it so generic and should it register something else in that field? i would like it to be more descriptive.. also the server is producing…
Hello, I would like to monitor Exchange 2010 mailboxes for the # of emails thay have in their mailbox. We POP emails out of these accounts so they should always be empty. We would like to know when this isn't working and these mailboxes have items sitting in their mailbox. Anyone have a template handy for this?
Hello all, Last Thursday I implemented an application template that polls three performance counters for the C: drive on my servers. They ran fine all day Thursday, but when I came back this morning, only 16 out of 255 were up. Every other monitors were at unknown status with the same error message: "Unexpected error…
Hi It appears to be taken a really long time to implement a "steady" system of NPM & APM so we can actually trust the output from it and getting to the point of giving up!! I make sure I have the latest versions/SP's etc installed and that the templates that have come out recently have been applied (again) to each…
Hi, We're running APM 3.5 and I've started getting into WMI. I would like to gather manufacturer and model from Win32_ComputerSystem but whether I do it together or individually the value in ComponentStatisticData in APM_CurrentStatistics is 0. Can the WMI monitor only pull back numeric data? I've tried both of these…
Hi All, We're using Exchange 2003 and allowing OWA connections via an MS ISA server. I've been asked by our management to try to get APM to collect figures on Webmail usage within the business, particularly: - Recording the number of connections - Usernames of staff who are making use of it. I've read loads of post's…
I have a Windows 2003 and 2008 server, both running SQL 2008. All of the APM checks that use WMI to access SQL stats are failing. After digging in a little further with WMI Explorer I realized that the Win32_PerfFormattedData_MSSQLSERVER_SQLServerAccessMethods class is missing from WMI. Does anybody know how enable this…
The performance monitors that utilize WMI will fail when WMI does not reply. Which is a problem. The monitor functions normally when tested and such but then will fail. My theory is the server is busy and is not replying in time? Which is a problem because the reason I'm monitoring is to track server load and if it fails…
Background: I am using NPM 9.1 SP5 & APM 2.5 Problem: I am using a WMI query to get some disk IO statistics for my Windows hosts. One example is: SELECT CurrentDiskQueueLength FROM Win32_PerfFormattedData_PerfDisk_PhysicalDisk WHERE Name='_Total' This query works great on 2003 systems. Win32_PerfFormattedData is not…
