Hello all,
Last Thursday I implemented an application template that polls three performance counters for the C: drive on my servers. They ran fine all day Thursday, but when I came back this morning, only 16 out of 255 were up. Every other monitors were at unknown status with the same error message:
"Unexpected error occurred. Instance 'C:' does not exist in the specified Category."
Now, let me say that they ALL were ok Thursday.
Also, they all seem to go back up once in a while only to go back to unknown again.
I also have a script that polls disk performance counters that I use to just validate that WMI is operational and I have validated the script against a dozen of the servers that are still labeled Unknown and they all respond flawlessly to a scripted WMI query.
Even though the servers responded to the scripted WMI Query, I still went through the WMI troubleshooting guide and checked for account access and DCOM configuration just to be sure, and everything seems OK...
Is there anyway to diagnose problems with APM? Has anyone experienced this problem.
The performance counters are the only assigned APM template for the moment.
Thanks for any help!
