I'm looking at creating POE alerts when a switch hits 90% POE consumption. How can I do this, is it possible?
It would be nice to be able to, out of the box, have a gage on how much POE budget is left on a switch, and a per device POE calculator. Alerting, based on this feature would be awesome (ie: alert me when a switch has only X% of POE budget left)
Hello folks, I'm just wondering if anyone has managed to do a dashboard / alert for when PoE consumption is almost at capacity. I can do a syslog alert but would like something more graphical etc. Does the 10.4 network hardware monitoring help with this? Cheers, Peter
I'm in need of a way to poll the output of the command show power inline. OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.105.1.3.1.1.4.1 used to do this for older devices. Now with the 2960X this OID return the power level from show power inline police. Does anyone know how to get the watts allocated total? I've been banging my head on this for a while…
I have a slightly different kind of question for a change. If you wanted to find out how much power is being supplied by PoE ports on a Cisco Catalyst switch, how would it be done? I'd like to know the total amount that each switch is putting out and, if possible, how much each PoE port on the switch is putting out? I know…
I’m probably going to get some heat for this, but I have to get something off my chest. At Cisco Live this year, I saw a technology that was really flexible, with amazing controllability potential, and just cool: PoE-based LED lighting. Rather than connecting light fixtures to mains power and controlling them via a…
