It would be nice to be able to, out of the box, have a gage on how much POE budget is left on a switch, and a per device POE calculator. Alerting, based on this feature would be awesome (ie: alert me when a switch has only X% of POE budget left)
I agree. I am now looking for 3rd party tools or scripts that will help do this exact thing.
We just had a major chassis go down because we had too many POE devices, and were over budget. This type of monitor/sensor should be included by default in any monitoring tool, imo.
