We have Nexus 9504s sitting on our network. We're using VRFs and I'd like to pull their information from the switches. I have scoured the internet, looked at different ways of doing this. However, most of the ways are not for the Nexus 9k series. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Solution Use snmp context. SNMP context needs to be mapped to the SNMP group and the VRF which has those BGP neighbours. Create new context mapping under VRF configuration: #context <context_name> SNMP context enabling configuration: #snmp-server context <context_name> Apply snmp context mapping to snmp group configuration…
Have you ever noticed in your routing table entries on a node that it says "This device's routing table has more entries than can be displayed in the table below. The data below is incomplete.>> How can I fix this?" If you go to the page referenced it gives nice and detailed instructions on how to fix this. Here is that…
I need to alert on a routing neighbor going down that includes the VRF Name and the Routing Neighbor IP. Example: The neighbor (routing neighbor ip) in VRF (vrf name) on (device name) is down. So if the following are true: routing neighbor = 20.20.20.254 vrf name = Corporate_DR device name = pri_core_rt01 Then the alert…
The current NPM/Orion version still does not have a field for Admin Status for Routing Neighbor, which can be extremely useful for alerting (reducing alert noise; there is no differentiation possible between peers that are set to 'Admin Down' and those who are not). The value for this is stored here: Specific Object…
Enable the number of routing table records polled to be saved in the DB (Either as a global property or on a Per-Device level) We need to poll more then 1000 records on some of our routers. Every time the config wizard is run the custom config file is overwritten. Please save these custom properties in the DB to survive…
We have a couple of routers that handle IPv6 traffic that we monitor with NPM. The "Routing Details" resource for these routers shows an error for the "Routing Table poller (IPv6)" protocol, like this: If I query the NPM_Routing table, I see that the specfic poller for this protocol is the N.Routing.SNMP.Ipv6RoutingTable…
Being new to NMP / SolarWinds, I am trying to determine the recent change in NPM 10.5 / 10.6 related to multicast status. Understanding that the advanced alert is now applied related to monitoring multicast, what is SolarWinds using to determine / monitor the multicast status?...i.e..SNMP? I believe I can turn off the…
I recently started working for a company with offices spread out around the US, as well as in the UK. Pretty much since my first day I've been hearing complaints about internet access speeds at a couple of our offices (one in Boston, on in London - I'm in Maryland and we do not have the same issue). All 3 offices have a…
We have found the need to alert on routing changes. Up to this point, we have configured custom pollers to monitor a specific Routing Neighbor and alert if the status changes. This has worked well, but involves configuring a specific custom poller for each router for the BGP neighbor we want to monitor. It works, but it's…
