We need to be able monitor and send alerts when an individual member of a Aruba stacked switch is down. This is becoming important as we add more of these stacked switches. Don't know why this isn't already being done as Aruba is an established product and this shouldn't even be something we have to beg for to be added.…
I know SolarWinds has extensive monitoring for Cisco Switch stack monitoring. Now want similar set up to be seen for Virtual stack as well.
We have a number of CISCO switches , which although have stacking modules in situ , are stand-alone . ie 1 per cabinet . We also have a number without stacking modules. I've been tasked with identifying those that have , and those that don't . Any advice appreciated
Cisco Switch Stack monitoring is great, but Cisco is the only supported Vendor for this feature. I've worked with many clients that would like this same functionality for their Dell switch stacks. So in other words, it would be nice if the Switch Stack monitoring support spanned all Vendors where Hardware Health is…
Hello all, I have a requirement to identify the internal switches of a switch stack using the API. My current query is as follows https://<server>:17778/SolarWinds/InformationService/v3/Json/Query { "Nodes.InstanceSiteId, Nodes.NodeID, Nodes.IPAddress, Nodes.IPAddressType, Nodes.DynamicIP, Nodes.Caption, Nodes.Category,…
The resource in NPM12 for monitoring switch stacks is helpful but it seems to be pulling in switches that aren't actually stacked (i.e. they show a member count of 1 with the data ring status in warning). Anyone know of a way that this can be filtered not to include switches that aren't actually stacked?
When configuring a new stackable (but not stacked) switch I came across this message that correctly identified the state of the switch. (found on the Stack Tab) The problem is that the Learn more link takes you to a Stack Members page. No where in that documentation does it talk about enabling/disabling Stack monitoring.…
I have a few Cisco Catalyst 4500-X switches configured with Virtual Switch Stacks (VSS), I noticed that the SolarWinds switch stack poller doesn't recognize it as a stacked switch. Is this by design? Is there a better way to monitor the stack members in a VSS? Does NPM currently not support monitoring stack members in…
We're an all Dell shop, with over 400 S-Series switches. Most of our switches are stacked, but there is no native way to monitor the different stack-unit's status. In the meantime, I have created custom pollers to get the information we need. It would be nice to be able to get all the information for a stack in one place,…
Is there a way to add custom properties (asset tag info) to the individual switches in a switch stack? I am looking to add the info and be able to grab it in some reporting. Thanks
