I recently noticed that our SolarWinds Syslog Service says it is stopping but unfortunately it never stops (or doesn't appear to). I can't restart the service because both Start and Stop are grayed out so I actually kill the task using taskkill in and CMD prompt. If I kill the task from a CMD prompt and then attempt to…
Hey all, I am currently getting an error thrown by SyslogService on a pretty routine basis. I believe it is a symptom of a bigger issue I am seeing with a transaction log file blowing up to roughly 50 gigs. Here is the message: SWSysLogService.StartDBUpdate() - .ExecuteNonQuery() Error adding Message to the Syslog table!…

I am running syslog-ng on a solaris server (company syslog server), forwarding syslog to Orion nmp server, (9.5.1) all of my incoming syslog messages have the ip address of my solaris server. IS there any way to fix this ?
I am trying out Orion NPM 9.5.1, and need to know if the forwarding of syslogs to another syslog server keeps the source infomation intact( RFC 3164 compliance), also does it only forward, or does it also store the syslog messages Thanks
We can't get our SolarWinds Syslog Service to start. The solarwinds.net event log leaves this message upon trying to start the service: Port 514 on IP Address 0.0.0.0 is already open. Change the 'LocalIPAddress' parameter in the configuration file to another IP address or port Is there a configuration file I need to change?
