Hi guys, I am trying to understand where Pkt Loss registered by Connection Quality polling between two nodes and applications comes from. When reviewing the Node's packet loss statistics for the past 24 hours, all I see is 0 packet loss. This is on the Node level (polling IP). I understand that this is packets loss…
As the Orion Maps project continues to progress and make improvements, we are very excited to announce some new updates that we managed to sneak in with the latest Core Hotfix bundle released on August 20th (Hotfix 5). If you are not familiar with the original post around Intelligent Mapping in Orion, I might suggest that…
We upgraded to SAM 6.6, and started adding some Application Dependency Mappings. We are seeing some potentially concerning latency in some connections, and are trying to determine if it's an on-going issue, "normal" latency for that connection, etc. One of the first things I was asked for is a history of the ADM connection…
By default, Application Dependency Monitoring (ADM) polls nodes every 120 minutes. We've found that this is not frequent enough to detect connections that are infrequent and/or brief. If I increase the polling frequency to, say, every 5 minutes, I can get ADM to detect more application connections. However, Solarwinds…
I'm aware that I can create a custom MSI file using the Dameware Mini Remote Control Package Builder and push that configuration out to my network clients. However, what if I want to change a setting after the install is complete. It's much easier to change a registry setting though a GPO then have to redeploy software.…
The new Application Dependency Mapping in SAM 6.6 is very nice, but it would be even nicer if there was a history of the connections being monitored - especially latency!
