Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to monitor an ESXi Host using NPM? The products that we are currently utilizing are: NPM, NTA, SAM, SEM and DPA. How do you add the ESXi host for monitoring? Thank you.
I'm suggesting to create a better way to add ESX hosts as nodes to solarwinds that are discovered through the vCenter API integration. Right now there is no way to search for an ESX host and add it as a node. You have to drill down through the vcenter, through the datacenter level, cluster level, etc to find your host.…
Hi, I have two ESX hosts which according to NPM are using 100% of their memory and this just is not true, in reality when looking through VMWare they are in fact using around 50%. Has anyone come across this before and if so were you able to resolve it? Cheers, James
does anyone know how to setup snmp on an ESXI host through the vsphere client?
I opened a case with Solarwinds requesting help to setup the Virtualization Tab in Orion NPM. One of my ESX Host is showing red icon indicating ESX Status is down, but in reality only one guest in that host is powered off. The tech support told me that this is how it was designed, esx host will show as "down state" if one…
I am getting an error message saying "Cannot connect with provided Uri templates or IP address" on many of my VMware hosts when trying to poll them. I have an additional polling engine, and all of the ones that WORK (except for 1) are on the additional engine. None of the ones assigned to the main engine are polling. Has…
I am trying to create a Summary view that uses Custom Html to list down Virtual Machines. I understand that this is easily done under a 'Node Details view' but i need to consolidate all virtual machines of a couple of esx servers into one page that is why i need it in summary view. So the question is: Is it possible to…
I've problems adding a new esx4 to orion NPM. I've several esx 3.5 added to orion and they work perfectly, list all machines and resources. Last week i add my new esx 4 server and i notice something diferent, snmp is no longer as in esx 3.5 i configur the new snmp on esx4 and already have the node listed on orion but i…
Occasionally, Orion will report that the CPU load of an ESX Server (hosting maybe 10 virtual servers) will report over 10 thousand % CPU Utilization? Anyone seeing this sometimes? Nothing super important, but possibly a bug? This only occurs with ESX host, hosting over 5 machines. It ussually lasts a polling cycle or two.…
