Hi, I am sure this has been asked before, but I would like to monitor Always on SQL instances with App Insights for SQL. What is the correct way of monitoring the nodes and the listeners? Since the system level databases should be monitored, I added the secondary nodes with AppInsights to monitor those. However, adding the…
My company is implementing DAGs over the course of the next several months, having already implemented one for one our instances, and we would like the ability to view DAG health in addition to non-distributed AG health.
I am doing some analysis on the architecture for a new environment, and HA is a requirement. Currently we have licensing for NCM, SAM, IPAM, NTA, NPM We also have a license for a additional polling engine (APE) I know we would need to purchase a license for HA. Thought it would be worth mentioning: * Make use of a 2017 SQL…
I've picked up the management of our existing Solarwinds environment which has been in place for close to 10 years. We are a global firm with office (and virtualized servers) across the globe, but IMO we only have a small set of nodes, interfaces and volumes relative to our size and what a single Solarwinds can handle. Our…
What is required so that DPA (version 11.0.378) shows the "AG STATUS" tab under the instances and not only the AG listener? I've added the AG listener to DPA, and under that I can see the tab. I've also added both instances directly with their instance name but there I don't see the tab. In the logs I see that parameter…
Currently when registering a SQL server instance that is part of an Availability Group DPA will take the listener name or virtual IP address given and will drill down and use the active node name when it connects. If the end user wants the listener DNS to be displayed then they must make an update to the COND table in the…
Any plans of including availability group in DPA Tool? Ability of DPA to register the Listener Group (AG Group) instead of registering different SQL instances involved in AlwaysOn set up. Duplicate of - make sure you vote for that one.
An operational dashboard for AlwaysOn Availability Groups. We use the dashboards within SSMS however it would be nice to see this information available within Ignite/DBA as well. Update: You can now register and see Availability Groups in DPA 11.0. See CLOUD Databases with a side of Availability Groups, Adaptive Plans and…
