Hi I got a call from a user that is "100%" sure that over night all the static IP scopes that he mange change from "Used" to "Transient". We did not change anything on the platform ..does anyone experienced the same ? we run on "SolarWinds Platform, VNQM, NTA, NPM, NCM, IPAM, SAM: 2023.2.0"
Hi everyone, I'd like to create an alert for a few (and very important) static IP addressess (not already nodes in NPM) whenever one or more of them change status after the scanning process by IPAM. I've already searched for a query already posted here, but I've just found a SWQL Studio query to list the IPAM_Events (below…
I've been under the understanding for years now that when IPAM scans an IP, if it does not respond, IPAM would place the IP into the Transient state. It would stay in the Transient state, as long as it didn't respond to ping, for the duration specified in the Subnet Scan settings. If the option of Unlimited Duration was…
Every time IPAM makes an scan of a subnet if a IP in a used status does not respond, automatically change its status to transient and if this continue until the transient period we set at the Subnet Scan Settings, the ip change its status to available. Is there a way to disable the transient period?
HI, Is there a way to configure an alert that send me a mail everytime a IP change its status? I've select every possible variable but nothing so far. i open the report writer application to see what variables is using IPAM to write the logs on the Last XX IPAM events box and i've noticed that there are three groups from…
I have a current situation on which I have a subnet for printers and I noticed that printers change from "used" to "transient" status every time an scanning takes place. here is an example to illustrate what is happening (I selected one node to simplify the issue). What I am trying to understand is why this is happening?…
Will an IPAM license be used for all used and unused IP addresses in a defined and discovered DHCP scopes? In other words, if I have a \24 scope (254 addresses), but I'm only using 10 at most at any given time, will 254 licenses be used, or will only 244 licenses be used?
Is there an option that makes manually reserved IP's stay reserved even with scanning enabled with a transient period. For example we subnet with /24 and we internally set 1 - 90 for each subnet as our static ip range. We want a transient period of say 7 or 14 days for everything except reserved ip range for each subnet.…
This is the situation i need to resolve: -first i recieve a request for an IP from a user who want to install a device on the network. -the i assigned the best suitable IP for that device. Now here is the Important part: - IF after a while this user stop using this device and disconnect it from the network, so when IPAM…
Is there a way to automate a purge of addresses older than x amount of days? Currently once an IP has been detected as used it always shows as used despite the fact the last response was any number of days ago. I can't find a way to easily purge this data presently. I can manually change it from used to available but thats…
