SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor v9.5.1. Alerts keep firing for shutdown and disabled interfaces. Interface status has not changed and a alert will fire for multiple interfaces on the same switch. This is only happens on switches not routers. This issues seems to be related to:
Is it possible to run Show Tech on CatOS device via CatTools?, are there any issues? Buffer issues, as we know that when run normally on our core catos swicthes it has caused numerous errors even outside normal working hours.. any advice greatly appreciated.
With a zillion different ways to configure syslog messages, traps etc, I am asking what the community considers to be the optimum settings to send snmp / syslog to NCM for managing Cisco 6509's running either O/S or newer IOS. GOAL: To provide realtime configuration change monitoring in order to COMPLY... Specifically, I…
Hi, I'm having an issue with a Cisco CatOS device. I keep getting an error on the Device.Backup.Running.Config activity stating "VTY password is incorrect for device". I know the VTY password is correct. I ran the activity in capture mode with a bunch of different configurations... and haven't gotten very far. here's the…
We run a lot of CatOS. Can I tell NCM that startup configs are not supported config types on these devices? Thanks
I'm hoping someone could assist. I'm currently trying to deploy NPM in my network environment and i've built a lab to test how it works with all of the different devices I have out in the field. I want to run everything with SNMPv3. Most things run fine with IOS but i'm having problems getting CatOS devices to communicate…
We have been using the NCM 5.1 demo for about 2 weeks now and have had very few problems or issues. One issue we have noticed is that our Running vs. Startup Config Conflicts/Mismatch page shows perpetual conflicts between the running and startup config files on CatOS devices. While “show startup” is a valid CatOS command…
I find that the disocver process fails or succeeds on various Cisco devices. Some of our devices, such as 6509 running CatOS's, appear to have picked up the SET PORT NAME (Cat) at one time in the past, but no longer do this, inserting a generic "Port 6/1 · 10/100 utp ethernet (cat 3/5)" name, instead of picking up the…
Orion does not poll Cisco CatOS switch interface names properly. See the post here: See case#: 39003 I understand the need to standardize on the RFCs for SNMP. But in some cases you guys need to understand the needs of your enterprise customers. We have over 30 CatOS switches. I am sure that there are larger environments…
