I recently took a SolarWinds survey, and I hit one of those classic open-ended questions: “What three words or phrases describe SolarWinds to you?”

Without missing a beat, my answers were:

Why? Because at the end of the day, people need people. We all know the old cliché that “it takes a village.” The truth is, it takes a village from birth to the grave—some tech pros just refuse to admit it when they're trapped behind a terminal.

For the folks in this community who have inspired me to bring my absolute best to the infrastructure every day, consider this my public thank you note. You all have been my biggest cheerleaders. I watched this community grow from the outside as an anonymous lurker for over two years, finally pulled the trigger and joined in 2014, and I have never looked back.

I can say with zero hesitation: this is the absolute best community on the internet.

To give you some context on how highly I value this space, I don’t even belong to standard social media platforms (unless you count the required corporate scrolling on LinkedIn). I actually just officially ditched the Broadcom user groups. Post-acquisition, that entire ecosystem completely lost its focus on the actual engineer and morphed into a pure, revenue-driven spreadsheet machine.

Coming to THWACK reminds me why SolarWinds remains the absolute best bang for your buck in the industry. I challenge anyone to find another vendor out there delivering a platform this rich and robust—one that actually covers every single layer, endpoint, and millisecond in a high-availability environment.
